Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG.
De dubbele grachtenstructuur rond kasteel en voorplein zal dateren uit de bouwtijd van het kasteel. De zeer kleine en eenvoudige landschappelijke parkaanleg is midden 19de-eeuws. De rechte oprijlaan loopt vanaf de Voorstraat in noordoostelijke richting en eindigt in een klein bosje om vervolgens als landweggetje verder te gaan. De laan loopt aan de buitenzijde direct langs de buitengracht en is beplant met jonge eik in enkele rijen; verharding met grind; het kasteel is op het terrein tussen de grachten aan alle zijden omringd met een klein parkbos, behalve aan de noordoost kant, waar het nieuw ingerichte voorplein is; hier staan alleen nog vier oude taxusbomen in een rij langs het bouwhuis; het voorplein is met de laan verbonden door een brug, die haaks op de laan over de buitengracht ligt (zie onder 4). In het parkbosje staat voornamelijk eik en es; Er zijn weinig oude bomen; de oude treurbeuk in de westpunt van het park is het vermelden waard; vanaf het voorplein loopt een rondgaand pad om de binnengracht door het parkje; een extra lus loopt rond in het zuidelijk parkdeel, dat het grootst is; het terrein direct ten noorden en oosten van het voorplein is in gebruik als productieboomgaard. PARK LAYOUT.
The double moat structure around castle and forecourt will date from the construction period of the castle. The very small and simple landscaped park layout is mid-19th century. The straight approach road runs from Voorstraat in a northeastern direction and ends in a small wood, then continuing as a country lane. The avenue runs on the outside directly along the outer moat and is planted with young oak in several rows; gravel surfacing; the castle is on the terrain between the moats surrounded on all sides with a small parkwood, except on the northeast side, where the newly arranged forecourt is; here only four old yew trees stand in a row along the farm building; the forecourt is connected to the avenue by a bridge, which runs at right angles to the avenue over the outer moat (see below under 4). In the parkwood stand mainly oak and ash; there are few old trees; the old weeping beech at the west point of the park is worth mentioning; from the forecourt a circular path runs around the inner moat through the parkland; an extra loop runs in the southern park section, which is the largest; the terrain directly north and east of the forecourt is in use as a fruit orchard.
