Inleiding
Op de Joodse begraafplaats aan de Kemmer te Oirschot staat het GRAFTEKEN van R. Koppens, daterende uit omstreeks 1868.
Omschrijving
Het hardstenen staande grafmonument bestaat uit een recht afgesloten steen, waarvan de bekronende lijst is verdwenen. Het monument is geornamenteerd met florale motieven in laagreliëf. In de steen de inscriptie: "Hier rust / Roos Koppens / Echtge van Levie Groenewoud / overl. te Oirschot 26 ijar - 18 mei 5628 / in den ouderdom van 48 jaren / Z.R.I.V.".
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de Joodse grafcultuur op het platteland, het is tevens van belang als herinnering aan het sociale isolement van het Joodse volksdeel op het platteland en voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument. The hard stone standing grave monument consists of a stone with a straight top, of which the crowning moulding has disappeared. The monument is ornamented with floral motifs in low relief. In the stone the inscription: "Here rests / Roos Koppens / Wife of Levie Groenewoud / died in Oirschot 26 Ijar - 18 May 5628 / at the age of 48 years / Z.R.I.V.".
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance.
