Inleiding
Op de Joodse begraafplaats aan de Kemmer te Oirschot staat het GRAFTEKEN van H. Docters, daterende uit omstreeks 1898.
Omschrijving
Het hardstenen staande grafmonument is aan de bovenzijde deels afgebroken en is geornamenteerd met florale motieven in laagreliëf. Op het monument een inscriptie in de Hebreeuwse en Nederlandse taal: "Hier rust Hartog Docters / geb. te Oirschot 17 februari 1852 / overl. 21 augustus 1898 - 3 Eloel 5658 / Z.A.R.I.V.".
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de joodse grafcultuur op het platteland, het is tevens van belang als herinnering aan het sociale isolement van het Joodse volksdeel op het platteland en voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het grafmonument.
