Description of component 8: gates, dam and gravel road at Van Limburg Stirumweg 2 8.1 Two identical ENTRANCE GATES, 19th century late/end; consisting of two low round sandstone piers with black-painted hemispherical heads; between them simple wrought-iron gate wings with spear-point spikes and ornaments of banded iron; respectively located: - on the west side of the house in line with the Lindenlaan; - at the entrance from the Marijke-Muoiwei. 8.2 ACCESS GATE to the vegetable garden from the Marijke-Muoiwei, 19th century; low brick cross piers; wrought-iron gate wings with some ornamental scrollwork. 8.3 Simple wooden SPEAR-FENCE around the deer enclosure; essentially 19th century, but frequently renewed; pointed slats in two heights, alternately fixed to horizontal slats; every few metres a square post in the ground for support. 8.4 Circular wrought-iron SPEAR-GATE near the carriage house, 19th century late. 8.5 GATE on the Marijke-Muoiwei, standing on a DAM over a boundary ditch with slightly curved brick sides; on the outer sides of both gate piers wrought-iron scroll-shaped small gates; on the gate piers in high relief the name of the country house. The gates may be based on a design from circa 1840.
