Inleiding
Dubbele (land)arbeiderswoning, gelegen op het niet afgegraven gedeelte van de terp van Jannum, even ten westen van de Romaanse kerk. In aanleg wellicht nog begin 17de-eeuws gebouw met vroeg-19de-eeuwse afluiving. Het interieur kent nog een aantal waardevolle interieuronderdelen. Blijkens een opmeting uit 1970 was het pand, na een verbouwing in de 19de eeuw in drie éénkamerwoningen onderverdeeld. Sedert restauratie in de jaren '70 en de ingebruikneming door het Fries Museum als 'buitenmuseum' telt het pand nog twee éénkamerwoningen. De derde éénkamerwoning werd wegens bouwvalligheid afgebroken. De raam- en vensterdetaillering, die als gevolg van verschillende verbouwingen niet meer oorspronkelijk was, is bij gelegenheid van de restauratie verbeterd.

Verdiepingloos gebouw op rechthoekige plattegrond, opgetrokken uit rode baksteen en hergebruikte kloostermoppen en gedekt door een met rode Hollandse pannen belegd zadeldak tussen topgevels met topschoorstenen; aan oostzijde afluiving met krimp aan voorzijde; vlechtingen; jaartalankers 1628 (voorgevel); houten bakgoot. In de voorgevel (zuid) twee 15-ruitsschuiframen, opgeklampte deur en halfrondgebogen zoldervensters; in de rechterzijgevel (oost) ijzeren stalvensters van verschillende afmeting; in de voorgevel (zuid) twee 15-ruitsschuiframen; in de achtergevel (noord) twee zesruitsschuiframen; in de linkerzijgevel (west) twee (gekoppelde) zesruitsschuiframen, opgeklampte deur en 20-ruitsschuifraam. INTERIEUR Inwendig bestaat het gebouw (sedert de restauratie) nog uit twee éénkamerwoningen van gelijke afmeting, die ruggelings met de bedstedenwanden tegen elkaar liggen. De vloeren (ook die van de afluiving) zijn belegd met (vermoedelijk hergebruikte) rode plavuizen. Doorlopende onbeschoten sporenkap; houten balkenplafond. In de zuidelijke woning (tegen de voorgevel) een eenvoudige houten schouw tegen betegelde achterwand (witte tegels met en zonder in blauw uitgevoerde florale decoratie); tegen de noordwand onderkelderde bedstedenwand (met kast). De uitmonstering van de noordelijke woning is in grote lijnen spiegelbeeldig aan de zuidelijke.

Introduction
Double (agricultural) labourer's dwelling, located on the unearthed part of the terp of Jannum, just west of the Romanesque church. Likely a building dating from the early 17th century in its original form with an early 19th-century half-hipped roof. The interior still contains a number of valuable interior components. According to a survey from 1970, the property, after a remodelling in the 19th century, was subdivided into three single-room dwellings. Since restoration in the 1970s and its use by the Fries Museum as an 'outdoor museum' the property still comprises two single-room dwellings. The third single-room dwelling was demolished due to structural deterioration. The window and door detailing, which as a result of various alterations was no longer original, was improved during the restoration.
Description
Single-storey building on a rectangular plan, constructed of red brick and reused cloister bricks and covered by a gabled roof with saddle roof, tiled with red Dutch tiles between gabled ends with gable chimneys; on the east side half-hipped roof with shrinkage on the front; wattle infill; date anchors 1628 (front facade); wooden guttering. In the front facade (south) two 15-pane sash windows, bolted door and semi-circular arched loft windows; in the right side facade (east) iron stable windows of various sizes; in the front facade (south) two 15-pane sash windows; in the rear facade (north) two six-pane sash windows; in the left side facade (west) two (coupled) six-pane sash windows, bolted door and 20-pane sash window. INTERIOR Internally the building (since restoration) still consists of two single-room dwellings of equal size, which back-to-back with their built-in bed walls adjoin each other. The floors (including those of the half-hipped roof section) are laid with (presumably reused) red tiles. Continuous unplastered roof truss structure; wooden beam ceiling. In the southern dwelling (against the front facade) a simple wooden fireplace against a tiled back wall (white tiles with and without floral decoration executed in blue); against the north wall an undercellared built-in bed wall (with cupboard). The furnishing of the northern dwelling is largely a mirror image of the southern one.
