Inleiding
Deze aan de westzijde van de Hoofdstraat gelegen voormalige PORTIERSWONING (G) behorende tot de historische buitenplaats Rhederoord werd ca. 1911 ontworpen in de Nieuw-Historiserende stijl door architect J.W. Hanrath. Ter rechterzijde van het pand bevindt zich de voormalige oprijlaan (alleen nog toegankelijk voor voetgangers en ruiters) van het landgoed die duidelijk gemarkeerd is door een tussen twee fraaie bakstenen kolommen opgehangen smeedijzeren toegangshek. Het woonhuis wordt aan drie zijden omgeven door een tuin die van de Hoofdstraat gescheiden wordt door een ijzeren spijlenhek.
Omschrijving
Het pand is gebouwd op een nagenoeg vierkante plattegrond en heeft één bouwlaag onder tentdak gedekt met gesmoorde Tuile du Nordpannen. Op de nok bevindt zich een bakstenen schoorsteen. Het pand is opgetrokken in twee kleuren baksteen gemetseld in Vlaams verband. De omlopende licht uitgemetselde plint is uitgevoerd in bruin/rode baksteen terwijl het bovenliggende metselwerk in oranje/rode baksteen uitgevoerd is. Het pand heeft hoeklisenen. De gevels worden afgesloten door een geprofileerde gekorniste kroonlijst (waarin de goot).
Boven het midden van elke gevel bevindt zich in het dakschild een dakkapel met een licht gebogen met zink gedekt dak met aan de voorzijde een eveneens segmentvormig fronton. Iedere dakkapel heeft een venster met twee 8-ruits draairamen. Alle vensters alsmede deuren worden afgesloten door strekken. De vensters zijn aan weerszijden voorzien van luiken. Alle gevels met uitzondering van de rechter zijgevel hebben een symmetrische indeling.
De aan van de zijde van de oprijlaan gelegen VOORGEVEL heeft een indeling in drie traveeën. De middelste travee heeft een middels enkel bakstenen treden te bereiken ingang die voorzien is van een paneeldeur en een gesneden bovenlicht. Aan weerszijden van de ingang bevindt zich een venster met een 12-ruits schuifraam.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL heeft twee vensters met 12-ruits schuiframen.
De ACHTERGEVEL heeft eveneens twee vensters met 12-ruits schuiframen. Onder het linker venster bevindt zich een kelderlicht.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL heeft in het midden een via een aantal bakstenen treden te bereiken paneeldeur. Direct links naast deze deur bevindt zich een klein venster met 6-ruits draairaam. Aan weerszijden van de ingang bevindt zich een venster met een 12-ruits schuifraam.
In het INTERIEUR bevinden zich nog meerdere oorspronkelijke onderdelen waaronder een schoorsteenmantel.

Introduction
This former PORTER'S LODGE (G) situated on the west side of Hoofdstraat, belonging to the historic country estate Rhederoord, was designed around 1911 in the Neo-Historicist style by architect J.W. Hanrath. To the right of the property is the former drive (now accessible only to pedestrians and riders) of the estate, clearly marked by a wrought-iron entrance gate suspended between two fine brick columns. The dwelling house is surrounded on three sides by a garden which is separated from Hoofdstraat by an iron railing fence.
Description
The building is constructed on an approximately square plan and has one storey beneath a tent roof covered with dampened Tuile du Nord tiles. On the ridge sits a brick chimney. The building is built in two colours of brick laid in Flemish bond. The continuous slightly projecting plinth is executed in brown/red brick while the overlying brickwork is executed in orange/red brick. The building has corner pilasters. The facades are finished with a profiled moulded cornice (incorporating the gutter).
Above the centre of each facade is a roof dormer in the roof slope with a slightly curved zinc-covered roof with an equally segmental pediment on the front. Each roof dormer has a window with two 8-pane casement windows. All windows and doors are fitted with lintels. The windows are furnished with shutters on both sides. All facades with the exception of the right side facade have a symmetrical arrangement.
The FRONT FACADE facing the drive has a division into three bays. The central bay has an entrance reached by means of single brick steps which is furnished with a panelled door and a carved fanlight. On either side of the entrance is a window with a 12-pane sash window.
The LEFT SIDE FACADE has two windows with 12-pane sash windows.
The REAR FACADE also has two windows with 12-pane sash windows. Below the left window is a cellar light.
The RIGHT SIDE FACADE has in the centre a panelled door reached by means of a number of brick steps. Directly to the left of this door is a small window with a 6-pane casement window. On either side of the entrance is a window with a 12-pane sash window.
In the INTERIOR there are several original components including a fireplace mantel.
