Omschrijving van de HISTORISCHE PARK EN TUINAANLEG (2)
Het hoofdelement in het park vormt de grote slingervijver die in het zuidelijke deel eindigt in een zwierige krul. De vijver is oorspronkelijk kleiner geweest en bestond alleen uit het deel met de krul vóór het huis. Dit deel moet tussen 1840 en 1892 gegraven zijn. Later is de vijver naar het noorden toe vergroot. In deze vijver mondt de Scheibeek thans uit. Dit deel van de beek, ten noordwesten van de vijver is feitelijk het enige element dat resteert aan de oorspronkelijke 17de-eeuwse tuinaanleg. Over een deel van de beschoeiing worden nog steeds de jeneverkruiken aangetroffen die hier in 1905 zijn aangebracht. Ten oosten van de vijver ligt het hoofdhuis. De toegangslaan vanaf de Velserlaan vertoont de vorm van een cirkelsegment, dat zich ter plaatse van het huis verbreed. Het deel van de laan voor het huis is niet in gebruik, zodat men het huis thans via de achterzijde benadert. Het voorste deel van de laan moet in oorsprong de 18de-eeuwse oprijlaan zijn, die enigszins verlegd is tot een meer gebogen verloop. Ten noordwesten van de vijver strekt zich het deels glooiend aangelegde parkbos uit. Hierin worden slingerpaden aangetroffen en grote boomgroepen bestaande uit in hoofdzaak iepen, kastanjes en beuken. Er is een onderbegroeiing van stinseplanten. De topografische kaart uit 1903 toont aan dat ter plaatse van de huidige speelweide en de rozentuin een afwijkend gebruik van het parkbos was. Gezien de forse tuinmuur was dit vermoedelijk een moestuin. Hoewel de invulling van dit gebiedje dus recent is, is de plek en de vorm globaal tot de historische aanleg terug te voeren. Ook het huidige dierenweitje staat op deze kaart als weiland aangegeven. De volière en het dienstgebouwtje ten noordwesten van het huis zijn waarschijnlijk kort na 1900 gebouwd. In de WOII werd in het zuidelijke deel van het park een schuilkelder gebouwd, als kleine heuvel herkenbaar. Het betreft hier dus niet zoals wel eens vermoed wordt een ijskelder.

The main element in the park is formed by the large meandering pond which ends in a sweeping curve in the southern part. The pond was originally smaller and consisted only of the part with the curve in front of the house. This part must have been dug between 1840 and 1892. Later the pond was enlarged towards the north. The Scheibeek now flows into this pond. This part of the stream, to the northwest of the pond, is effectively the only element remaining of the original 17th-century garden layout. Over part of the revetment, the juniper jars that were placed here in 1905 can still be found. To the east of the pond lies the main house. The access lane from the Velserlaan shows the form of a circular segment, which widens at the location of the house. The part of the lane in front of the house is not in use, so the house is currently approached from the rear. The front part of the lane must originally have been the 18th-century drive, which has been somewhat altered to a more curved course. To the northwest of the pond extends the partly rolling park woodland. Within it winding paths are found and large groups of trees consisting mainly of elms, chestnuts and beeches. There is undergrowth of ivy plants. The topographic map from 1903 shows that at the location of the current play meadow and rose garden there was a different use of the park woodland. Given the substantial garden wall, this was presumably a vegetable garden. Although the current use of this area is recent, the location and form can generally be traced back to the historical layout. The current animal pasture is also shown on this map as a meadow. The aviary and the service building to the northwest of the house were probably built shortly after 1900. In World War II, a shelter cellar was built in the southern part of the park, recognisable as a small mound. This is therefore not, as is sometimes thought, an ice cellar.
