Inleiding
Ten noorden van kazemat 442 staat op de westelijke kade van het Defensiekanaal de S (3a) KAZEMAT 443, daterende uit 1939-1940. De kazemat staat direct ten noorden van een thans op het kanaal doodlopende landbouwweg. De wal is ter plaatse aan de zijde van het kanaal gedeeltelijk afgegraven.
Omschrijving
De kazemat staat direct ten oosten van een voormalige, thans niet meer aanwezige brug in een landbouwweg die ter plaatse het kanaal kruiste. Door het middelste schietgat kan de kazemat frontaal vuur op deze weg geven. De kazemat is gaaf bewaard gebleven en vertoont geen gevechtsschade. Achter kazemat 443 staat de traditore kazemat B (90a) 448, die flankerend vuur in zuidelijke richting geeft.
Waardering
De kazemat is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geografische ontwikkeling, namelijk de versterking en daaropvolgende verdediging van Nederland tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is als zodanig een belangrijk document van de militaire geschiedenis. Het is van architectuur- en bouwhistorisch belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de toepassing van moderne materialen en technieken, met name in de verwerking van gewapend beton. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als essentieel onderdeel van een groter geheel, dat cultuurhistorisch van belang is en is van belang wegens de hoogwaardige kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met wegen, wateren en bodemgesteldheid. Through the middle firing aperture the casemate can deliver frontal fire on this road. The casemate has been preserved intact and shows no battle damage. Behind casemate 443 stands the traitor casemate B (90a) 448, which delivers flanking fire in a southerly direction.

The casemate is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of cultural and geographical development, namely the fortification and subsequent defence of the Netherlands during the Second World War and is as such an important document of military history.
