Inleiding
De PASTORIE, gelegen nabij de reeds eerder beschermde Neogotische kerk van Wanroy, monumentnummer 38249, is ca. 1890 gebouwd in Eclectische stijl, maar kan in oorsprong tot 1792 teruggaan. Zij ligt in een deels ommuurde, grote tuin met enige oude bomen.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags pastorie, opgetrokken uit baksteen met gepleisterde voorgevel, afgedekt met een plat dak met met leien gedekte schilden aan de eenlaags voorgevel.
De voorgevel heeft vijf raamassen en heeft een middenrisaliet met torenachtig bekroonde dakkapel. De gevel wordt afgesloten door lisenen met verticale stucvelden en heeft boven de plint geblokt pleisterwerk. De in ijzer vernieuwde zesruits rasen hebben een gestucte omlijsting met kuif. Eenzelfde omlijsting heeft de voordeur, een dubbele Neorenaissance paneeldeur met smeedijzeren roosters. In de topgevel een T-vormig stolpraam.
Torenachtig steil tentdak met ijzeren nokkam. Links en rechts brede dakkapellen met vierdelige roedenramen en steile tentdaken met nokkammen. Links een eenlaags onderkelderde aanbouw met gepleisterde gevel, zesruits schuiframen en een ca. 1960 aangebrachte garagedeur, eveneens onder plat dak met leien schilden en dakkapel. De zijgevels van de eerste bouwlaag bestaan uit gewitte handvormsteen en kunnen uit het einde van de achttiende eeuw dateren, de bovenverdieping vertoont machinale baksteen. In de tweelaags achtergevel, die deels achter een eenlaags aanbouw schuil gaat, geeft een cordonlijst de oorspronkelijke bouwhoogte aan. Rechts van de pastorie een oudere, mogelijk vroeg negentiende-eeuwse bakstenen poort met rondboogingang tussen bakstenen pijlers, geflankeerd door ingezwenkte muren en hoekpijlers.

Het object is van algemeen belang en heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele en geestelijke ontwikkeling. Two-storey rectory, built of brick with plastered front facade, covered with a flat roof with slate-covered hipped roofs on the single-storey front facade.
The front facade has five window bays and features a central projection with tower-like crowned roof dormer. The facade is finished with pilasters with vertical stucco fields and has rusticated plasterwork above the plinth. The six-pane windows, renewed in iron, have a stuccoed surround with hood moulding. The same surround frames the front door, a double Neo-Renaissance panelled door with wrought-iron grilles. In the gable a T-shaped attic window.
Tower-like steep tent roof with iron ridge. On the left and right broad roof dormers with four-pane glazing bars and steep tent roofs with ridges. On the left a single-storey partly-cellared extension with plastered facade, six-pane sash windows and a circa 1960 garage door, also under flat roof with slate hips and roof dormer. The side facades of the first storey consist of whitewashed hand-moulded brick and may date from the late eighteenth century; the upper storey shows machine-made brick. In the two-storey rear facade, partly concealed behind a single-storey extension, a string course indicates the original building height. To the right of the rectory an older, possibly early nineteenth-century brick gateway with round-arch entrance between brick piers, flanked by curved walls and corner piers.

The object is of general interest and has cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of cultural and spiritual development. It represents the typological development of the rectory in the nineteenth century, arising from an older building volume and consequently has building-historical significance.
