Inleiding
VILLA "Bustelberg" in vormen die een Heroriëntatie op traditionele bouwwijzen combineren met de Engelse Landhuisstijl.
Ontwerp uit 1913 van architect J.W. Knibbeler. Gelegen aan de zuidelijke stadsrand met uitzicht op de rivier de Mark.
Omschrijving
Gedeeltelijk één- en tweelaagse villa met L-vormige plattegrond liggend onder een samengesteld schilddak met dakoverstek. Het dak is belegd met rode Oudhollandse pannen. Het opgaande werk bestaat uit paarsrode handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. Het geheel heeft een uitspringend basement voorzien van natuurstenen aanzet- en gebakken profielstenen.
De uitspringende ingangspartij bevindt zich aan de westkant van de villa onder het dakoverstek in het lage gedeelte van de voorgevel, met ernaast een open waranda met een gemetselde balustrade. Op de begane grond in het hoge gedeelte van de voorgevel een driezijdige erker. Een eenvoudige dienstingang bevindt zich aan de zuidkant. In de schuine dakschilden ingebouwde balkons en dakkapellen met roedenramen en houten windveren. In de muuropeningen verschillende typen samengestelde vensters waarin achtruits roedenramen voorzien van luiken. De vensters zijn twee- of driedelig met tussenstijl. Ook zijn er enkele kruisvensters aanwezig. Het interieur is grotendeels authentiek.

De villa is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft architectuurhistorische waarden: het object is als vroeg voorbeeld van de combinatie van traditionele en Engels georïenteerde stijlvormen van bijzonder belang voor de geschiedenis van de architectuur. Description
Partially single- and two-storey villa with L-shaped floor plan lying under a composite hipped roof with roof overhang. The roof is covered with red Old Dutch tiles. The walls are constructed of purple-red hand-moulded brickwork laid in cross bond. The whole has a projecting basement provided with natural stone setting stones and moulded roof tiles.
The projecting entrance section is located on the west side of the villa under the roof overhang in the low section of the front facade, with an open veranda next to it featuring a mortared balustrade. On the ground floor in the high section of the front facade a three-sided bay window. A simple service entrance is located on the south side. Built into the sloping roof panels are balconies and roof dormers with glazing bars and wooden wind braces. In the wall openings various types of composite windows with rear-pane glazing bars provided with shutters. The windows are two or three-part with mullion. There are also a few cross windows. The interior is largely authentic.
Valuation
The villa is of general interest. The building has architectural-historical values: the object is of particular importance as an early example of the combination of traditional and English-oriented stylistic forms for the history of architecture.
