Omschrijving
Inleiding

Description
Introduction
The house-and-barn with stylistic features of the Neo-Renaissance is part of a complex, built by the Oomen family who farmed here for four generations until 1995. The farm no longer has an agricultural function.
Description
The HOUSE-AND-BARN of the long-gable type has a rectangular plan. The front facade faces west. The cellars with storage room are located on the north-east side of the residential part. The original layout of the business part (cattle stall) has been altered.
The house has a gabled roof thatched with reed. The plan narrows at the transition from the business to the residential part. The former has a low and the latter a higher eave level. The five-bay wide symmetrical residential part with corner pilasters and projecting plinth has a front facade with stylistic features of the Neo-Renaissance.
In the centre the front door and on either side two six-paned sash windows with shutters. The wall structure consists of yellow hand-formed brickwork laid in Flemish bond with moulded stones in the plinth, interspersed with red brickwork in decorative brickwork of friezes, horizontal bands, round arches and arch drums of wall openings. Setting stones of natural stone. In the facades wrought-iron balcony anchors. On the roof ridge a wrought-iron bell turret with bronze bell.
The layout of the residential part of the farmhouse is largely authentic. It has a broad central corridor, leading into the kitchen with on either side a room at the front of the house. In the left one a fireplace with black marble mantelpiece and in the right one a large fireplace with tortoiseshell tiles. On the north-east side of the house a large double cellar with two windows and theft bars and above it a storage room. In the kitchen a second large fireplace with speck shutter on the upper floor. Beam ceilings. Doors with two panels. The roof trusses of the stall part are supported by two wooden tie-beams.
Valuation
The HOUSE-AND-BARN is of general importance. It has cultural-historical values: it is of importance as a particular expression of the development of farmhouse construction in the second half of the nineteenth century; it is of importance as an example of the technical and typological development of the long-gable farmhouse. The complex has architectural-historical values because of the facade treatment, which is rich for a farmhouse. Integrity/rarity: it is a rare example of a richly detailed farmhouse.
