Inleiding
Aan de noordelijke zijde van de Kapelstraat te Rijkevoort staat, direct ten westen van het beschermde Rijksmonument, de molen Luctor et Emergo uit 1901, het voormalige MOLENAARSWOONHUIS, daterend uit omstreeks 1910. Het gebouw heeft elementen van de sobere, zogenoemd geometrische Nieuwe Kunst.
Omschrijving
Het woonhuis heeft een globaal rechthoekige plattegrond, bestaat uit een bouwlaag en heeft een a-symmetrische voorgevel met vijf vensterassen. Het pand heeft een schilddak, met zadeldak, voorzien van eindschild boven de topgevel en pirons. Op het dak liggen geglazuurde tuile-du-Nord pannen.
De gevels zijn opgemetseld in baksteen, voorzien van banden van strengperssteen en een bepleisterde fries. Centraal in de gevels is een rondboog-portiek met paneelvoordeur. Ter rechterzijde zijn twee schuifvensters met deels vereenvoudigde indeling, bovenlichten met kleine roedenverdeling en paneelluiken. Het linkerdeel van de gevel heeft een niet risaliserende topgevel. Op de begane grond zijn twee vensters als aan de rechterzijde geplaatst. Aan de deels betimmerde topgevel hangt een houten balkon. Een deur, voorzien van zij- en bovenlichten, de laatste met kleine roedenverdeling, geeft toegang tot het balkon. Op het dak staan twee gemetselde schoorstenen, voorzien van geornamenteerde trekstangen. De voortuin is omgeven door een hekwerk, bestaande uit gemetselde pijlers met ingemetselde buisprofielen.
Waardering
De molenaarswoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de uitgroei van de met de landbouw samenhangende nijverheid op het platteland. Het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het dorpswoonhuis. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de stijl en detaillering, die actuele motieven, ontleend aan de stedelijke bouwkunst, toepast ter verhoging van het representatieve karakter en is tevens van belang vanwege het bijzondere materiaalgebruik. On the northern side of Kapelstraat in Rijkevoort stands, directly west of the protected National Monument, the mill Luctor et Emergo from 1901, the former MILLER'S DWELLING HOUSE, dating from around 1910. The building displays elements of the austere, so-called geometric New Art.

The dwelling house has a roughly rectangular ground plan, consists of one storey and has an asymmetrical front facade with five window axes. The property has a hipped roof, with gabled roof, provided with end shield above the top gable and roof finials. On the roof lie glazed tuile-du-Nord tiles.

On the ground floor two windows are placed as on the right side. On the partly timber-clad top gable hangs a wooden balcony. A door, furnished with side and fanlights, the latter with small glazing bars, provides access to the balcony. On the roof stand two brick chimneys, furnished with ornamented flashing bands. The front garden is surrounded by a fence, consisting of brick piers with embedded tube profiles.

The miller's dwelling is of general importance. The property has cultural-historical importance as an example of socio-economic development, in particular the growth of the rural craft associated with agriculture.
