Inleiding
BIERBROUWERIJ uit 1870, nu woonhuis. In 1875 was het cafe "de Wijngaard" hier gevestigd, met de liedertafel "de Dageraad".
Het huis ligt vrij op het perceel. Aan de achterkant heeft het huis een uitbouw uit de eerste helft van de 20ste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Langwerpig tweelaags blokvormig woonhuis onder zadeldak met overstek en houten windveren. Het dak is gedekt door platte Friese pannen. Het symmetrische huis is drie traveeën breed. Het is opgetrokken uit paarsrode veldoven stenen, gemetseld in kruisverband, met rode hanekammen boven de muuropeningen en een geprofileerde cementen plint in de voorgevel. De muuropeningen op de verdieping zijn voorzien van vierruits- en op de begane grond van zesruits-schuifvensters. De voordeur heeft een monumentale cementen omlijsting. In de top van de zijgevels een rondvenster met erboven duivengaten. Diverse onderdelen van het interieur zijn authentiek o.a.: in het rechter deel van het huis de kelder met tongewelf en de gespelderde plafonds op de begane grond verder de gang met tegelwerkvloer en houten trap met gedraaide trappaal en leuningbalusters.
Waardering
De voormalige brouwerij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de brouwerij op het platteland en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de gebouwen voor de ambachtelijke brouwerij-industrie.
Het is tevens van belang vanwege de gaafheid van het ex- en interieur, met onder meer de kelderruimte als herinnering aan de oorspronkelijke functie. Het is als voorbeeld van een kleine plattelandsbrouwerij zeldzaam.

Description
Elongated two-storey block-shaped dwelling house with a gabled roof with overhang and wooden roof trim. The roof is covered by flat Frisian tiles. The symmetrical house is three bays wide. It is built of purple-red field-fired bricks, laid in English bond, with red roof cresting above the wall openings and a profiled cement plinth on the front facade. The wall openings on the upper floor are furnished with four-pane and on the ground floor with six-pane sash windows. The front door has a monumental cement frame. In the apex of the side facades a round window with pigeon holes above. Various components of the interior are authentic, among others: in the right part of the house the cellar with a barrel-vault and the spelt ceilings on the ground floor, further the corridor with tiled flooring and wooden staircase with twisted newel post and balustrade balusters.
Valuation
The former brewery is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic development of the brewery in the countryside and as an example of the typological development of buildings for the craft brewery industry.
It is also of importance because of the integrity of the exterior and interior, including the cellar space as a reminder of the original function. As an example of a small rural brewery it is rare.
