Inleiding
In 1922 als gevolg van een verbouwing tot stand gekomen vaste PLAAT- of BALKBRUG naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst der Publieke Werken in de gemeente Amsterdam. Kramer bediende zich van een eerder ontwerp uit 1911 van J.M. van der Mey doch nam hiervan alleen de structuur van de brug over. De uitwerking en de inpassing in de omgeving moeten worden toegeschreven aan Kramer zelf.
De brug (brugnummer 30) ligt in de Vijzelstraat en overspant de Herengracht.
Omschrijving
Vaste plaat- of balkbrug met drie doorvaarten. Landhoofden van baksteen en natuursteen, op de uiteinden verzwaard met gebeeldhouwde zuilen van natuursteen. Vleugels van baksteen in horizontaal getrapte vorm. Pijlers van baksteen en natuursteen in verticaal getrapte vorm en overgaand in uitkragingen. Stalen randliggers, aan de onderzijde geprofileerd. Decoratieve smeedijzeren balustrade.

Vaste plaat- of balkbrug uit 1922 naar een ontwerp in Amsterdamse School-stijl van P.L. Kramer van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- historische waarde vanwege de esthetische kwaliteit van het ontwerp alsmede van belang voor het aanzien van de stad.

Introduction
In 1922 as a result of a conversion, a fixed PLATE or BEAM BRIDGE was realised according to a design in Amsterdam School style by P.L. Kramer on behalf of the Bridges department of the then Public Works service in the municipality of Amsterdam. Kramer made use of an earlier design from 1911 by J.M. van der Mey but only adopted the bridge structure from this. The design and integration into the surroundings should be attributed to Kramer himself.
The bridge (bridge number 30) is located in the Vijzelstraat and spans the Herengracht.
Description
Fixed plate or beam bridge with three spans. Abutments of brick and natural stone, at the ends reinforced with sculptured columns of natural stone. Wings of brick in horizontally stepped form. Piers of brick and natural stone in vertically stepped form and transitioning into corbels. Steel edge beams, profiled on the underside. Decorative wrought iron balustrade.
