Omschrijving
Op een rechthoekige plattegrond tot stand gekomen bakstenen gymnastiekgebouw op een natuurstenen plint bestaande uit één bouwlaag onder een zadeldak bedekt met zwarte pannen. De voorgevel is voorzien van zes openslaande deuren met daarboven grote rondboogvormige bovenlichten met tuimelvensters, elk van elkaar gescheiden door bakstenen pilasters. Boven deze bovenlichten en direct onder de dakgoot banden van gekleurde geglazuurde tegeltjes. De uitkragende dakgoot is aan de onderzijde voorzien van klossen. De achtergevel is nagenoeg identiek, met dit verschil dat zich hier zes, hoog in de gevel geplaatste, rondboogvensters bevinden. De zijgevel aan de binnenplaats is voorzien van drie blinde rechthoekige nissen, elk bekroond met een band van gekleurde en geglazuurde tegeltjes. De ruimte tussen de twee gemetselde schoorsteenpijpen is opgevuld met dezelfde steentjes.
De zijgevel aan de Raamstraat is wel voorzien van vensters en heeft eveneens twee schoorstenen opgevuld met gekleurde en geglazuurde steentjes.
Waardering
In neoclassicistische stijl opgetrokken gymnastiekgebouw van belang als onderdeel van een schoolcomplex, verder nog bestaande uit een Handelsschool en een conciërgewoning.

Description
Realized on a rectangular ground plan, a brick gymnasium building on a natural stone plinth consisting of one storey under a gabled roof covered with black tiles. The front facade is provided with six opening doors with above them large round-arched fanlights with awning windows, each separated from each other by brick pilasters. Above these fanlights and directly below the roof eaves bands of coloured glazed tiles. The projecting roof eaves is at the lower side provided with brackets. The rear facade is almost identical, with the difference that here six, placed high in the facade, round-arched windows are located. The side facade facing the courtyard is provided with three blind rectangular niches, each crowned with a band of coloured and glazed tiles. The space between the two brick chimney shafts is filled with the same small tiles.
The side facade on the Raamstraat is provided with windows and also has two chimneys filled with coloured and glazed small tiles.

Gymnasiasm building erected in neoclassical style of importance as part of a school complex, further consisting of a Commercial School and a caretaker's lodge.
