Inleiding
WOONHUIS in eclectische stijl uit omstreeks 1885, gesitueerd op de voormalige vestingwerken, binnen het van rijkswege beschermde stadsgezicht.
Omschrijving
Het vrij gelegen eenlaagse pand op rechthoekige plattegrond heeft een zadeldak, gedekt met oud Hollandse pannen. De doorstekende eindgevels zijn bedekt met geschubde leien in Maasdekking. De bakstenen voorgevel heeft een lage gepleisterde plint en vijf vensterassen. De T-schuifvensters hebben glas-in-lood bovenlichten en een gestucte, geprofileerde omlijsting met kuiven, terwijl de borstwering is voorzien van een gepleisterd veld.
Centraal is in een ondiep portiek een paneeldeur met bovenlicht, trekbel, gietijzeren rooster en brievenbus aangebracht. De zijgevels zijn uitgevoerd in handvorm baksteen, voorzien van smeedijzeren steekankers. Aan de zijde van de Walstraat is de gevel op de etage voorzien van een vierruits schuifvenster en op de begane grond van een smal licht met diefijzer. In de achtergevel wordt een opgeklampte deur met bovenlicht geflankeerd door een zesruiter en een T-schuifvenster. Tegen de gevel staat, naast de keuken, een naoorlogs toiletgebouwtje onder plat dak. De voor- en zijtuin is van de straat gescheiden door een smeedijzeren hekwerk met gietijzeren pijlpunten. Een poortje geeft toegang tot het tuinpad naar de voordeur.

Het woonhuis is van algemeen belang. Description
The detached single-storey building on rectangular floor plan has a gabled roof, covered with old Dutch tiles. The projecting end facades are covered with slated tiles in Maas bond. The brick front facade has a low plastered plinth and five window bays. The T-sash windows have leaded glass fanlights and a stuccoed, moulded frame with cornices, while the parapet is provided with a plastered field.
Centrally placed in a shallow porch is a panel door with fanlight, bell pull, cast-iron grille and letterbox. The side facades are executed in hand-formed brick, provided with wrought-iron anchors. On the Walstraat side the facade on the upper storey is provided with a four-pane sash window and on the ground floor with a narrow opening with shutter bar. In the rear facade an articulated door with fanlight is flanked by a six-pane window and a T-sash window. Against the facade, next to the kitchen, stands a post-war toilet building under flat roof. The front and side garden is separated from the street by wrought-iron railing with cast-iron spear points. A gate provides access to the garden path to the front door.
