Inleiding
WINKEL-WOONHUIS met MAGAZIJN, in sobere Art Nouveaustijl gebouwd omstreeks 1905, blijkens de inscriptie boven de winkelpui door G.J.L. (Louis) van Stekelenburg, molenaar en eigenaar van de stoommeelfabriek, gevestigd in de achtergelegen, van rijkswege beschermde molen 'De Raaf'. Het pand heeft gefunctioneerd als kruidenierswinkel met bovenwoning en naastgelegen magazijn met stalling. Het gebouw is gelegen aan de rand van de historische kom van Ravenstein.
Omschrijving
Het tweelaags hoofdgebouw onder samengesteld zadeldak, belegd met oud Hollandse pannen en voorzien van een dakkapel en goot op klossen, heeft een a-symmetrische voorgevel met aan de rechterzijde de winkel, bestaande uit een halfsteens risalerend deel met topgevel. De gevel is opgetrokken in baksteen, heeft een hoge gepleisterde plint en gepleisterde banden en blokken. Het winkelgedeelte heeft een in baksteen en hardsteen uitgevoerde pui met houten etalageruit, voorzien van bovenlichten met glas-in-lood.
Boven de ruit een walsijzeren latei met Nieuwe Kunst-decoraties.
Ook het smeedijzeren rooster van de deur naar de winkel, naast de etalage in een ondiep portiek gelegen, is voorzien van Nieuwe Kunst-ornamentiek. De winkel is onderkelderd. Het keldervenster is voorzien van diefijzers.
Het bredere tweelaags linkerdeel van de gevel bestaat uit twee vensterassen. Alle vensters zijn samengestelde schuifvensters. In de kopse gevel is naast een smal vensterlicht een paneeldeur met gedeeld bovenlicht opgenomen. De gevel is ter hoogte van de balklagen voorzien van smeedijzeren muurankers. Terugliggend in de rooilijn sluit op de linkerzijde op de gevel een tweelaags, beduidend lager bijgebouw aan, dat blijkens de opgeklampte vleugelpoort de functie van bedrijfsgebouw, mogelijk magazijn, heeft gehad. Ook hier is de gepleisterde plint tot manshoogte aangebracht.

SHOP-DWELLING with WAREHOUSE, built around 1905 in sober Art Nouveau style, as evidenced by the inscription above the shop front by G.J.L. (Louis) van Stekelenburg, miller and owner of the steam flour mill, established in the adjoining mill 'De Raaf' which is protected by national heritage designation. The property functioned as a grocer's shop with living quarters above and adjoining warehouse with stalling. The building is situated on the edge of the historic core of Ravenstein.
Description
The two-storey main building under composite gabled roof, covered with old Dutch tiles and provided with a roof dormer and gutter on brackets, has an asymmetrical front facade with the shop on the right side, consisting of a half-brick projecting section with stepped gable. The facade is built of brick, has a high rendered plinth and rendered bands and blocks. The shop section has a brick and hardstone shop front with wooden display window, provided with fanlights with leaded glass.
Above the window a wrought-iron lintel with Art Nouveau decorations.
The wrought-iron grille of the door to the shop, located beside the display window in a shallow entrance, is also provided with Art Nouveau ornamentation. The shop is undercellared. The cellar window is provided with security bars.
The wider two-storey left section of the facade consists of two window bays. All windows are composite sash windows.
