Inleiding
Vrijstaande Mariakapel op een zeshoekige plattegrond. De kapel is op een straathoek gesitueerd en dateert uit 1920. De toegepaste bouwstijl is traditionalistisch. Het Mariabeeld werd vervaardigd door de beeldhouwer G. van de Bossche in 1919.
Omschrijving
Zeshoekige kapel met aan de voorzijde vier hardsteen zuilen waarop drie baksteen rondbogen rusten. Zuilen van de Corinthische orde. Achterzijde kapel met drie gesloten baksteen wanden. Metselwerk in kruisverband.
Tentdak met kunststof shingles. Smeedijzeren nokpion. Kapelvloer van hardsteen. Aan de voorzijde onder de dakrand horizontale band geglazuurde tegeltjes met het opschrift "Magnificat anima mea Dominum". Decoratief metselwerk onder de dakrand.
In de kapel een Mariabeeld met Kind. Beeld uitgevoerd in wit marmer.
Waardering
De Maria-kapel is van bovenregionale cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van een culturele en geestelijke ontwikkeling in de architectuur van devotiekapellen in het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw. Architectuurhistorische waarden ontleent de kapel aan het toegepaste bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. In the chapel a Mary statue with Child. Statue executed in white marble.
