Inleiding
Ijskelder gesitueerd op het landgoed De Bedelaar. Op het landgoed De Bedelaar woonde en werkte de paleontoloog Prof. E. Dubois tussen 1906 en 1940. Hij voerde op het landgoed experimenten uit op het terrein van de natuurontwikkeling.
Datering ijskelder: Eerste kwart twintigste eeuw.
Omschrijving
De ijskelder bestaat bovengronds uit een toegangsgebouwtje; een gecementeerd keldergewelf en een ontluchtingskanaal.
Rondboogvormig toegangsgebouwtje in baksteen met terugliggende rondboogvormige houten toegangsdeur. Beide zijwanden van het gebouwtje met twee steunberen. Vierkanten bakstenen ontluchtingskanaal op het hoogste punt van het keldergewelf.
Interieur met keldertrap met bakstenen treden. In de kelder aan weerszijden gemetselde schappen.
Waardering
De ijskelder bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een typologische ontwikkeling in de architectuur van dit type gebouwtjes op terreinen van landgoederen.
