Inleiding
SCHUUR, als onderdeel het boerderijcomplex 'Westdorp', gebouwd in 1891 in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant, behorend bij boerderijcomplex 'Westdorp' en gelegen met de nokrichting evenwijdig aan het stalgedeelte van de boerderij. Het gebouw ligt langs het oprijpad ten westen van de boerderij, ter hoogte van het stalgedeelte, en is deels in gebruik als stal, deels als wagenschuur.
Omschrijving
Eénlaags bakstenen gebouw op een langgerekt rechthoekig grondplan onder een zadeldak met gesmoorde gegolfde Friese pannen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in grauwe baksteen (kruisverband) met segment- en rondbogen boven de vensters en rollagen boven deuren. De goten en windveren aan de oostzijde zijn van hout.
De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel is een puntgevel, waar grijze kalkzandsteen decoratief is toegepast in de segmentbogen boven de vensters, rechthoekige velden onder de vensters en in de speklagen. Op de begane grond bevindt zich aan weerszijden van de middenas een zesruits schuifraam en op de verdieping één in de middenas. De gevel wordt afgesloten door geprofileerde windveren met een makelaar. Het oostelijk gedeelte van de wagenschuur heeft links een dubbele deur met rechts daarvan een deur met vierruitsbovenlicht. Halverwege het oostelijke dakschild bevindt zich een door zinken wangen geflankeerde dakkapel, voorzien van hooiluiken. De achtergevel (noord) is een puntgevel, die op de zolderverdieping een rondboogvormig gietijzeren stalvenster heeft. De houten aanbouw onder lessenaarsdak is voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
De oorspronkelijke indeling van de schuur is in grote lijnen gehandhaafd.

De schuur van het boerderijcomplex 'Westdorp is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorisch waarde als karakteristiek voorbeeld van een vrij sober vormgeven bijgebouw in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant uit het laatste kwart van de 19de eeuw. BARN, as part of the farmyard complex 'Westdorp', built in 1891 in a Craft-traditional building style, belonging to the farmyard complex 'Westdorp' and situated with the ridge direction parallel to the stable section of the farmhouse. The building lies along the access road to the west of the farmhouse, at the height of the stable section, and is partly in use as a stable, partly as a cart shed.
Description
Single-storey brick building on an elongated rectangular ground plan under a gabled roof with hipped corrugated Frisian tiles. The facades are constructed in grey brick (English bond) with segment and round arches above the windows and roll courses above doors. The gutters and roof brackets on the east side are of timber.
The symmetrically arranged front facade is a pointed gable, where grey sand-lime brick is applied decoratively in the segment arches above the windows, rectangular fields below the windows and in the spaced courses. On the ground floor on either side of the central axis is a six-light sash window and on the storey above one in the central axis. The facade is finished with profiled roof brackets with a corbel. The eastern section of the cart shed has on the left a double door with to its right a door with four-light fanlight. Halfway along the eastern roof slope is a hayloft dormer flanked by zinc cheeks. The rear facade (north) is a pointed gable, which on the loft storey has a round-arched cast-iron stable window. The timber extension under lean-to roof is of secondary importance for protection.
The original layout of the barn has been largely maintained.
Valuation
The barn of the farmyard complex 'Westdorp' is of general importance because of its architectural-historical value as a characteristic example of a relatively sober-designed outbuilding in Craft-traditional building style from the last quarter of the 19th century. The structural components are intact in main form, use of materials and detailing, both externally and internally.
