Inleiding
Op een kleine verhoging, die in het landschap met oude akkerbodems ten zuidoosten van Vlierden de plaats van een vijftiende-eeuwse kapel markeert, staat de GRAFKAPEL van de adellijke familie De Maurrissens, die het in 1965 gesloopte huis Baarschot aan de Bronweg te Vlierden bewoonden. De grafkapel dateert uit 1926. De bescherming beperkt zich tot de grafkapel, die als kleine opslagplaats dient.
Omschrijving
De grafkapel heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond, telt één bouwlaag en wordt gedekt door een klein plat dak dat is begroeid. Het dak is gesteld op gemetselde hoekpijlers op een doorlopend basement en wordt aan de voorzijde afgesloten met een hardstenen puntgevel met deklijsten, waarop de inscriptie: "Ridder de Maurrissens. De eerste steen gelegd door de hooggeborene Arnestine Euphrasie Virginie Alexandrine Freule de Maurrissens, 2-10-1926". Het metselwerk tussen de hoekpijlers, alsmede de eenvoudige opgeklampte toegangsdeur, dateren van later datum. In het interieur op de vloer een hardstenen zerk met een ingebeiteld kruis en de inscriptie: "R.I.P.".

Introduction
On a small elevation, which in the landscape with old arable land southeast of Vlierden marks the location of a fifteenth-century chapel, stands the CHAPEL OF REPOSE of the noble family De Maurrissens, who inhabited the house Baarschot on the Bronweg in Vlierden which was demolished in 1965. The chapel of repose dates from 1926. The protection is limited to the chapel of repose, which serves as a small storage place.
Description
The chapel of repose has a rectangular floor plan, comprises one storey and is covered by a small flat roof which is overgrown. The roof is supported on mortared corner pillars on a continuous basement and is closed at the front with a hardstone pointed gable with drip mouldings, on which the inscription: "Knight de Maurrissens. The first stone laid by the high-born Arnestine Euphrasie Virginie Alexandrine Freule de Maurrissens, 2-10-1926". The masonry between the corner pillars, as well as the simple braced access door, date from a later period. In the interior on the floor a hardstone grave slab with an incised cross and the inscription: "R.I.P.".

The burial monument is of general importance.
