Built in 1940, a TRANSFORMER BUILDING, transformer house type. The small building was designed by H.E. Schulte architect HBO-BNA in the service of the Provinciale Utrechtse Electriciteits Maatschappij and forms part of a new type of building in cubist style from that period.

Description

The transformer house situated on the corner with the Ruigenhoeksedijk is constructed on an approximately square floor plan under flat roofs. The façades are constructed in Flemish bond with deep joints in yellow brick on a framework of red brick. The roof edge of the highest, L-shaped flat roof is finished with a row of smothered glazed roof tiles. The virtually cubic-shaped building has on the front a slightly recessed building section on the left with a cantilevered horizontal coping slab.
