Inleiding
MAUSOLEUM met HEK op de in 1829 aan de Waardsedijk aangelegde Nederlands Hervormde begraafplaats. In 1895 werd in neoclassicistische stijl het mausoleum opgetrokken voor de familie Peperkamp. Het gebouwtje heeft de vorm van een klassieke tempel waar voor zes graven plaats is. Naar verluid staat er een bronzen grafkist in.
Omschrijving
Het aan de linkerzijde van het hoofdpad gelegen MAUSOLEUM is gebouwd op een nagenoeg vierkante plattegrond onder een zadeldak met de nok haaks op het pad. Het gebouwtje is opgetrokken uit baksteen en boven een plint geheel bepleisterd in blokmotief. De voorgevel is deels van natuursteen. De dakbedekking bestaat uit zink.
De voorgevel of zuidgevel heeft in het midden een houten rondboogdeur met een omlijsting met pilasters. In de sluitsteen is het jaartal `1895' aangebracht. Twee gecanneleerde halfzuilen dragen het hoofdgestel bestaande uit een kroonlijst met trigliefen en een fronton. In het timpaan is de tekst `FAMe / PEPERKAMP' aangebracht. Elke gevel bevat een ontluchtingsopening. De achtergevel wordt eveneens afgesloten door een fronton waarbij het gevelveld is voorzien van schijnvoegen. Voor het mausoleum staat een gietijzeren hekwerk met pieken.
Waardering
Het grafmonument is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als typologisch relatief weinig voorkomend voorbeeld van een mausoleum. Tevens is het mausoleum van cultuurhistorische waarde als uitdrukking van de funeraire geschiedenis.

MAUSOLEUM with FENCE on the Dutch Reformed cemetery laid out in 1829 on the Waardsedijk. In 1895 the mausoleum was erected in neoclassical style for the Peperkamp family. The small building has the form of a classical temple with space for six graves. According to tradition it contains a bronze coffin.
Description
The MAUSOLEUM, located on the left side of the main path, is built on an approximately square plan under a gabled roof with the ridge at right angles to the path. The building is constructed of brick and above a plinth entirely rendered with rusticated stonework. The front facade is partly of natural stone. The roof covering consists of zinc.
The front or south facade has in the centre a wooden round-arched door with a surround featuring pilasters. The date '1895' is inscribed in the keystone. Two fluted half-columns support the main entablature consisting of a cornice with triglyphs and a pediment. The text 'FAMe / PEPERKAMP' is inscribed in the tympanum. Each facade contains a ventilation opening. The rear facade is likewise closed by a pediment with the facade field provided with false joints. In front of the mausoleum stands a cast-iron fence with spikes.
Valuation
The grave monument is of general importance because of its architectural-historical value as a typologically relatively uncommon example of a mausoleum. The mausoleum is also of cultural-historical value as an expression of funerary history.
