Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG, ong. 1800; het betreft een kleinschalig landschappelijk parkje, dat door de tijd heen gaaf bewaard gebleven is; achter het huis is een groot lichtgeaccidenteerd gazon met een rondlopend pad, waarop andere slingerpaadjes aansluiten; vanuit het park is de kerktoren van Steenwijk te zien; veel van de oorspronkelijke, inmiddels oude en monumentale bomen zijn nog aanwezig; ze staan als solitairen in het gras en verder in groepjes als een kader eromheen; naast het gazon, aan de westkant ligt een kleine vijver, niet ver van het huis; achter het centrale gazon ligt aan de zuidrand van het parkje de oude boomgaard met een tuinmuur (zie onder 3); het huis, dat niet ver van de weg staat, ligt met de zijgevels "ingeklemd" tussen oude boomgroepen, zodat het achterpark nauwelijks te zien is; de voortuin bestaat uit een gazon, dat, vanaf de straat gezien, met nieuwe, niet oorspronkelijke aanplant en hekwerk aan het oog onttrokken wordt; vanaf twee nieuwe hekken voert een boogvormig pad naar de voordeur.

PARK LAYOUT, circa 1800; it concerns a small-scale picturesque park that has remained well-preserved over time; behind the house is a large gently undulating lawn with a perimeter path, onto which other winding paths connect; from the park the church tower of Steenwijk is visible; many of the original, now old and monumental trees are still present; they stand as specimens in the grass and further in groups as a frame around it; next to the lawn, on the west side lies a small pond, not far from the house; behind the central lawn lies at the southern edge of the park the old orchard with a garden wall (see below 3); the house, which stands not far from the road, is positioned with its side facades "wedged" between old tree groups, so that the rear park is barely visible; the front garden consists of a lawn which, viewed from the street, is concealed from view with new, non-original planting and fencing; from two new gates an arched path leads to the front door.
