Inleiding.
PASTORIE, gebouwd in 1877 in Wouwse Plantage, een nederzetting ontstaan naar aanleiding van de ontginning van de Wouwse Plantage. In het begin van de twintigste eeuw is het pand aan de achterzijde in twee fasen uitgebreid (waarschijnlijk eerst blokvorm onder tentdak linksachter ca. 1915, daarna de serre onder plat dak ca. 1925).
De pastorie ligt van de straat af en is omgeven door een tuin met onder andere een treurwilg. De tuin wordt van de straat gescheiden door een bakstenen muurtje met ezelsrug.
Omschrijving.
Tweelaags pand op een rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Het geheel is uitgevoerd in baksteen en met uitzondering van de linkerzijgevel gepleisterd, het dak is gedekt met gotische pannen. Beide topgevels hebben een getrapt fries en zijn afgedekt met een rand grestegels.
De voorgevel heeft een hoge plint en is vier traveeën breed. De gevel op de begane grond is voorzien van groeven in het pleisterwerk. Hoek- en middenlisenen zijn geblokt met daarin op de begane grond gebosseerde velden. De schuiframen zijn voorzien van een middenstijl, ook in het bovenlicht en worden omrand door een geprofileerde lijst, op de begane grond met hoekig motief, op de verdieping met een klein gebogen fronton. Kroonlijst en cordonlijsten zijn eveneens gepleisterd.
In de linkerzijgevel bevindt zich een houten deur met glas-in-lood bovenlicht. Aan weerszijden van de deur zijn natuurstenen plaquettes aangebracht met opschrift: "DEZE STEEN IS GE- LEGD/DOOR/JONKHR. ENGUERAND/EN FREULE/HELENA DE CATERS/MEI 1877" en "TH.J. KETELAARS PASTR./A. V. BAVEL./ A. RAAYMAKERS/A. NELE/A. V.D. BOOM/MEI 1877. Voor de deur twee hardstenen treden. Links ervan een getoogd T-raam met houten rolluik en twee kleine hoog geplaatste raampjes.
Tegen de achtergevel, iets uitstekend ten opzichte van de linkergevel is een éénlaagse aanbouw op vierkante plattegrond onder tentdak geplaatst. Het dak is gedekt met tuiles-du-Nord, bekroond door een piron. Deze aanbouw heeft aan de voorzijde een half venster met rolluik, in de achtergevel een groot raam, eveneens van een rolluik voorzien. Daarnaast heeft de achtergevel over de resterende breedte een éénlaagse aanbouw onder plat dak. In het midden van deze gevel een openslaande deur met ladder-roedenverdeling. Op de verdieping openslaande ramen. In het midden van de gevel, ter plekke van het trappenhuis zijn op twee hoogten liggende ramen aangebracht.
Tegen de rechterzijgevel, aan de achterkant is een kleine kas met mansardedak gebouwd, uitgevoerd in baksteen en glas. Daarvoor een groot raam met bovenlichten gevuld met glas-in-lood en enkele kelderlichten. Op de verdieping bevinden zich zesruits schuiframen met houten bakken voor rolluiken. In de topgevel twee kleine raampjes. Het interieur verkeert grotendeels in oorspronkelijke staat. Voor de gang, aan de straatkant bevindt zich een kamer-en-suite met onder andere met bladgoud beschilderde openslaande paneeldeuren, bewerkt stucplafond in één kamer en marmeren schouwen. Verschillende beschilderde vloeren (ster- en voetenmotief) op de begane grond.
In het midden van de gang ligt de trap met ijzeren spijlen, daaronder een portaal met gebrandschilderde glas-in-lood deuren en betegelde lambrizering. Via dit portaal zijn achterdeur en serre bereikbaar. Op de verdieping enkele slaapkamers met inbouwkasten.
Waardering.
De pastorie is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische en geestelijke ontwikkeling, met name de bouw van pastorale woningen op het platteland. Het huis heeft ensemblewaarden in samenhang met de ontwikkeling van het negentiende-eeuwse kerkdorp. Het object is in zijn geheel, ook inwendig, gaaf bewaard gebleven. Het is als zodanig zeldzaam.

The whole is executed in brick and with the exception of the left side facade plastered, the roof is covered with Gothic tiles. Both stepped gables have a stepped frieze and are finished with a border of ridge tiles.
The front facade has a high plinth and is four bays wide. The facade on the ground floor is provided with grooves in the plasterwork. Corner and central pilaster strips are blocked with bosses in the fields on the ground floor. The sash windows are provided with a centre post, also in the fanlight and are framed by a profiled moulding, on the ground floor with an angular motif, on the first floor with a small curved pediment. Cornice and cordon mouldings are likewise plastered.
