Inleiding.
Voormalige dubbele FUNDATIEWONING uit 1899 van de Hervormde Gemeente van 's-Gravenmoer, opgetrokken in Eclectische stijl. Tot 1922 als zodanig in gebruik bij het armenbestuur van de kerk. Hierna kwamen de woningen in particulier gebruik.
Omschrijving.
Het eenlaagse dubbelwoonhuis met souterrain en zolderverdieping heeft een zadeldak met overstek, houten windveren en makelaarbekroning. De voorgevel van zes traveeën breed is symmetrisch van opzet. In het midden twee portieken ieder met een eigen bordes en frontale trap voorzien van vijf treden. Hierboven een Vlaamse gevel met twee vensters onder flauw hellend zadeldak. In elk portiek een dubbele vierpaneelsvoordeur met bovenlicht. De twee naastgelegen traveeën hebben elk in het souterrain een tweeruitsvenster en op de bel étage een schuifvenster met T-vormige indeling. De zijgevels hebben in het midden een buiteningang voor het souterrain geflankeerd door een tweeruitsvenster. Hierboven op de bel étage twee en op de zolderverdieping één schuifvenster met T-vormige indeling. Het opgaand werk bestaat uit rood/paarse handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband staande op een cementen plint. Bovendien wordt het metselwerk van de voorgevel bij de muuropeningen afgewisseld door hoekblokken en een speklaag van cement, die de vensters van de bel étage deels omlijst. Verder bevat de voorgevel een fries en kroonlijst met in het midden, terplaatse van de Vlaamse gevel, een onderbroken segmentboog. Als erfscheiding aan de straat een ijzeren hekwerk met twee draaihekken en gesmede punten tussen gemetselde bakstenen pilasters.
Waardering.
De voormalige dubbele fundatiewoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van de armenzorg in de late negentiende eeuw en als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de fundatiewoning. Het is tevens van belang wegens de architectuurhistorische, typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid van een dergelijk woningtype.

The single-storey double residence with basement and attic storey has a gabled roof with overhang, wooden wind-braces and bargeboards with modillions. The front facade six bays wide is symmetrical in layout. In the middle two porches each with its own pedestal and frontal staircase provided with five steps. Above this a Flemish gable with two windows under a shallow pitched gabled roof. In each porch a double four-panel front door with fanlight. The two adjacent bays each have in the basement a two-pane window and on the bel étage a sash window with T-shaped glazing. The side gables have in the middle an exterior entrance to the basement flanked by a two-pane window. Above this on the bel étage two and on the attic storey one sash window with T-shaped glazing. The masonry consists of red/purple hand-formed brick laid in running bond standing on a cement plinth. Moreover, the brickwork of the front facade at the window openings is alternated by corner blocks and a course of cement, which partly frames the windows of the bel étage. Furthermore, the front facade contains a frieze and cornice with in the middle, at the location of the Flemish gable, an interrupted segmental arch. As boundary fencing to the street an iron railing with two swing gates and forged points between mortared brick pilasters.
Valuation.
The former double foundation dwelling is of general importance. The building is of cultural-historical importance as a special expression of the development of poor relief in the late nineteenth century and as an example of the typological development of the foundation dwelling. It is furthermore of importance due to the architectural-historical, typological and functional rarity of such a housing type.
