Inleiding.
VILLA uit eerste kwart van de twintigste eeuw in Eclectische stijl met Chalêtachtige stijlkenmerken. Het huis is gebouwd voor de dorpsdokter en sindsdien als zodanig in gebruik gebleven. Het huis ligt in de lintbebouwde hoofdstraat van het dorp.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse huis op L-vormige plattegrond met zolderverdie- ping heeft een gecombineerd schild- en zadeldak met een topgevel aan de straat. Het dak, met geknikte schilden, heeft aan alle kanten een groot overstek. Het is belegd met een rode Tuile du Nord-pannen. De voorgevel is vier traveeën breed. De rechtse travee direct naast de voordeur is uitgevoerd als een symmetrische risaliet, bekroond met de topgevel van het eerder genoemde zadeldak. In de risaliet op de begane grond zit een groot venster onder segmentboog met twee tussenstijlen en kalf. Op de verdieping twee gekoppeld schuifvensters onder rondboog met waaiervormige boogtrommel, gescheiden door een kolomvormige penant. In de topgevel van de zolderverdieping een rondvenster. Links van de voordeur bevinden zich op de begane grond twee en op de verdieping drie schuifvensters. De voordeur met een houten luifel met een frontaal hardstenen toegangsbordes en drie traptreden. In rechter- en linkerzijgevel bevinden zich gelijksoortige vensters.
Het opgaand werk bestaat uit handgevormde rood/paarse baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband afgewisseld door cementen en hardstenen speklagen. Het geheel staat op een rondgaande hardstenen plint. De overige muuropeningen hebben een segmentboog. Houten consoles ondersteunen het dakoverstek. Houten windveren en halfspant met makelaar in de topgevel van de risaliet. In voor- en zijkant in het dak een kleine kapel onder schilddakje met smeedijzeren bekroning. Het erf is aan de straatkant afgescheiden door een eenvoudig ijzeren hekwerk uit de bouwtijd.
Waardering.
De villa is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de villa voor dorpsnotabelen. Het object heeft architectuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de menging van stijlmotieven als uitdrukking van de representatie van de dorpse elite. The two-storey house on L-shaped ground plan with attic storey has a combined hipped and gabled roof with a stepped gable facing the street. The roof, with bent hips, has a large overhang on all sides. It is covered with red Tuile du Nord tiles. The front facade is four bays wide. The right bay immediately next to the front door is designed as a symmetrical risalit, crowned with the stepped gable of the aforementioned gabled roof. In the risalit on the ground floor is a large window under segmental arch with two intermediate mullions and calf. On the upper storey two paired sash windows under round arch with fan-shaped arch soffit, separated by a column-shaped pendant. In the stepped gable of the attic storey a round window. To the left of the front door are two windows on the ground floor and three on the upper storey sash windows. The front door with a wooden canopy with a frontally positioned stone landing and three steps. In the right and left side facades there are similar windows.
The masonry consists of hand-formed red/purple brick laid in English bond alternating with cement and stone banding. The whole stands on a continuous stone plinth. The remaining window openings have segmental arches. Wooden corbels support the roof overhang. Wooden wind braces and half-timber with carpenter in the stepped gable of the risalit. In front and side of the roof a small chapel under a small hipped roof with wrought-iron crest. The plot is separated from the street frontage by a simple iron fence from the time of construction.
