Inleiding.
LOOIERIJ daterend uit de late negentiende eeuw.
Omschrijving.
Drielaagse LOOIERIJ op een rechthoekige plattegrond met een tweelaags nathuis en daarboven een drooghuis onder zadeldak, gedekt met oud-Hollandse pannen. Het dak is voorzien van windveren. In de langsgevels getoogde vierruitsraampjes, bovenaan een smalle strook uitgevoerd in hout met luiken. Aan de straatkant (Oranjeplein) op de begane grond een opgeklampte deur en twee negenruitsramen. Op de verdieping bevinden zich getoogde vierruitsramen. De kopse gevel aan de achterzijde heeft een rond raam. Inwendig heeft de looierij een betonnen vloer op de begane grond. Verder houten balken en vloeren en steektrappen. Tegen de voorgevel een schoorsteen en schouw.
Waardering.
De looierij is van algemeen belang. Het gebouwtje heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de leerlooierij en de typologische ontwikkeling van looierij en looierswoning. Het is van belang als gaaf en zeldzaam voorbeeld van de ontwikkeling van de kleine huislooierij naar de grotere fabriekscomplexen.

Description.
Three-storey TANNERY on a rectangular ground plan with a two-storey wet-house and above it a drying-house under gabled roof, covered with old-Dutch tiles. The roof is provided with wind vanes. In the side elevations arched four-light windows, at the top a narrow strip executed in wood with shutters. On the street side (Oranjeplein) on the ground floor a clamped door and two nine-light windows. On the upper floor are arched four-light windows. The gable end at the rear has a round window. Inside the tannery is a concrete floor on the ground floor. Further timber beams and floors and steep stairs. Against the front elevation a chimney and fireplace.
Valuation.
The tannery is of general importance. The small building has cultural-historical importance as an expression of the socio-economic development of leather-tanning and the typological development of tannery and tanner's dwelling. It is of importance as a well-preserved and rare example of the development from the small domestic tannery to the larger factory complexes.
