Inleiding.
Het KOETSHUIS behorende bij een villa, gebouwd omstreeks 1890 in Chaletstijl, vermoedelijk naar ontwerp van C.P. Van Genk.
Omschrijving.
Eénlaags pand op een u-vormige plattegrond onder een omlopend schilddak, de hoekrisalieten met topgevel zijn voorzien van een zadeldak. Het pand is uitgevoerd in geverfde baksteen met een gepleisterde plint, het dak is gedekt met riet en voorzien van nokvorsten. Op de uiteinden zijn bakstenen schoorstenen geplaatst. In de risalieten bevinden zich getoogde poorten met bovenlicht, in de topgevels boven de poorten zijn luiken aangebracht. Het tussenstuk bevat twee smalle opgeklampte deuren, ertussenin is het middenstuk hoger opgetrokken onder een zadeldakje, haaks op het dak van de hoofdmassa, en heeft een rondboogluik. De dakrand en topgevels zijn voorzien van geschulpte windveren. De zijgevels zijn blind. In de achtergevel bevinden zich onder andere een getoogd vierruitsraam en een klein getoogd klapraam.
Waardering.
Het koetshuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de villa in de late negentiende eeuw. Description.
Single-storey building on a U-shaped floor plan under a continuous hipped roof, the corner risalites with gable ends are provided with a saddle roof. The building is executed in painted brickwork with a plastered plinth, the roof is covered with thatch and provided with ridge ornaments. Brick chimneys are placed on the ends. In the risalites are arched gates with fanlight, in the gable ends above the gates shutters are placed. The intermediate section contains two narrow plank doors, between them the middle section is raised higher under a small saddle roof, perpendicular to the roof of the main mass, and has an arched shutter. The roof edge and gable ends are provided with scalloped wind vanes. The side facades are blind. In the rear facade are among other things an arched four-pane window and a small arched hinged window.
Valuation.
The coach house is of general interest. It has cultural-historical value as an example of the typological development of the villa in the late nineteenth century. The whole is also of significance for the history of architecture because of the exceptional aesthetic qualities of material use and ornamentation and the place in the work of the architect Van Genk. It has been preserved intact.
