Omschrijving
Inleiding.
De voormalige CONCIERGEWONING werd gebouwd in 1926 op het terrein van het Dr. Mollerlyceum. Het pand is een ontwerp van J. Wielders en Q.J. Horsten en heeft Expressionistische elementen. In 1982 is het pand intern verbouwd en voor administratieve doeleinden in gebruik genomen.
Omschrijving.
Het een tot tweelaagse onderkelderde gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en is verbonden aan het lyceum. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen, het asymmetrische zadeldak heeft rode verbeterde Hollandse dakpannen. De ingang van het pand bevindt zich aan de zijde van de Legrandstraat. Het dak loopt hier door tot vlak boven het zesruitsstolpraam links en het portiek ter rechterzijde. De paneeldeur is voorzien van een zijraam, hoog in de muur is er een klein toiletraam. Het portiek wordt aan de rechterzijde afgeschermd door een laag bakstenen muurtje en een houten paal onder de goot. In het dakvlak is een brede dakkapel onder plat dak aangebracht, met gekoppelde zesruitsramen. De houten lijstgoot loopt deels door in de zijgevel aan de Bolwerkzijde, een klein hoog geplaatst raam en een zestienruits venster omvattend. Hoog in de topgevel is een vierruits zolderraam geplaatst. Het rechter gedeelte van deze gevel is tweelaags met plat dak en springt iets naar voren. Onder de brede houten lijstgoot bevindt zich een zestienruits raam. De zijde van dit bouwdeel is blind, hier achter bevindt zich een vereenvoudigd venster. Het woonhuis is aan de smalle tweelaagse uitbouw verbonden door een hoge eenlaagse gang onder plat dak. De voormalige woonkamer aan de zijde van de achtergevel wordt ontsloten door openslaande deuren.
Waardering.
De vroegere woning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische en geestelijke ontwikkeling.
