Inleiding.
In een plantsoen, gelegen bij de kerk en pastorie van het dorp, staat een HEILIG HARTBEELD, vervaardigd door L. Petit te Tilburg. Het beeld heeft elementen van de Art Nouveau.
Beschrijving.
Kalkstenen Heilig Hartbeeld op samengestelde tufstenen sokkel. Het beeld toont een staande Christusfiguur gekleed in lang gewaad. Zijn rechterhand hangt af langs de lichaam (de vingers ontbreken). De linkerhand rust op het hart op Zijn borst. Het beeld is op de basis aan de rechterzijde gesigneerd 'Lé. PETIT/ TILBURG'. Het beeld staat op een vierkante sokkel met afgeschuinde hoeken, geflankeerd door twee kwartronde platen waarvoor een bloembak. Het geheel staat op een dekplaat met holle rand, gedragen door een bakstenen fundament. Op de sokkel een bronzen plaat met opschrift 'ZIE HIER / HET HART / DAT DE / MENSEN / ZOZEER / BEMIND HEEFT'.
Waardering.
Het beeld is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarden als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de introductie en popularisering van de verering van het H. Hart in Noord-Brabant in de jaren 1920-1940. Het object is tevens van belang wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik door de combinatie van kalksteen met een geheel tufstenen sokkel. Het object maakt deel uit van een groter geheel, bestaande uit een reeds beschermde kerk en pastorie. Het object is tenslotte ook van belang vanwege de gaafheid.

In a public garden, located near the church and rectory of the village, stands a SACRED HEART STATUE, made by L. Petit of Tilburg. The statue has elements of Art Nouveau.

Limestone Sacred Heart statue on a composite tufa stone pedestal. The statue depicts a standing Christ figure dressed in a long robe. His right hand hangs down along the body (the fingers are missing). His left hand rests on the heart on His chest. The statue is signed on the base on the right side 'Lé. PETIT/ TILBURG'. The statue stands on a square pedestal with bevelled corners, flanked by two quarter-round plates in front of which a flower box. The whole stands on a coping stone with hollow edge, supported by a brick foundation. On the pedestal a bronze plate with inscription 'SEE HERE / THE HEART / THAT HAS / LOVED / PEOPLE / SO MUCH'.
Valuation.
The statue is of general interest. It has cultural-historical values as a special expression of a spiritual development, namely the introduction and popularisation of the veneration of the Sacred Heart in North Brabant in the years 1920-1940.
