Inleiding
WINKELPAND met BOVENWONING uit 1895 in neorenaissance-stijl, gelegen in de aaneengesloten oostelijke gevelwand van de Bakkerstraat. De belendende 19e eeuwse panden zijn even hoog. In de winkelpui is de tekst "Goud en Zilverwerken Anno 1895" aangebracht.
Omschrijving
Winkelwoning op rechthoekig grondplan met een voorhuis van drie bouwlagen en zolderverdieping, een achterhuis en een tussenlid met trappenhuis. De bouwdelen zijn om een binnenhofje gegroepeerd. Het voorhuis heeft een afgeplat schilddak met mastiek-leien.
De VOORGEVEL is drie traveeën breed en heeft een symmetrische indeling met breed middenrisaliet. De hardstenen pui in blokverband in de eerste bouwlaag wordt geleed door pilasters met basementen en eenvoudige lijstkapitelen. De pui bestaat uit een brede etalage op zwart granieten plint tussen twee smalle, rondboogvormig afgesloten ingangen (links naar de bovenwoning en rechts naar de winkel). De etalage is gevat onder een brede korfboog en wordt aan weerszijden geflankeerd door pilasters van zwart graniet. De bovenlichten in de boogvelden zijn dichtgezet. De pui sluit af met een fries en geprofileerde waterlijst. Het fries is in het midden opgetrokken tot aan de lekdorpel van het venster in de tweede bouwlaag. Hier bevindt zich tussen twee consoles de gegraveerde en vergulde tekst "Goud en Zilverwerken" met aan weerszijden "Anno" en "1895". De bakstenen tweede en de derde bouwlaag zijn gemetseld in kruisverband en voorzien van gele speklagen ter hoogte van de dorpels. De speklagen zijn aan de uiteinden en op de hoeken van de risaliet voorzien van gepleisterde diamantkopjes. De tweede bouwlaag heeft in de middenrisaliet een groot samengesteld zesruits venster met geprofileerde stijlen, en aan weerszijden een enkelruits schuifvenster. De vensters sluiten aan de bovenzijde af met een hoofdgestel (geprofileerde architraaf, een tegelfries met gestileerde bloemmotieven en geprofileerde kroonlijst) en gemetselde blinde segmentboogjes. De segmentboogjes zijn voorzien van gepleisterde aanzet- en sluitstenen. De derde bouwlaag heeft twee gekoppelde schuifvensters in de middenrisaliet en een schuifvenster aan weerszijden. De vensters worden afgesloten door een geprofileerde kroonlijstjes en gemetselde blinde segmentbogen. De lekdorpels bevinden zich op bakstenen sierlijstjes. De middenrisaliet sluit af met een topgevel waarin een stolpraam met bovenlicht. Het venster wordt geflankeerd door bakstenen pilasters met smeedijzeren bekroning en heeft een betegeld fries met rankmotieven aan de onderzijde en een geprofileerd fronton aan de bovenzijde. De smalle traveeën aan weerszijden van de risaliet sluiten aan de bovenzijde af met een betegeld fries en een uitkragende geprofileerde bakgoot op gesneden klossen.
De bakstenen ACHTERGEVEL van het voorhuis is in kruisverband gemetseld en heeft in de tweede en derde bouwlaag elk twee stolpramen met bovenlichten en een brede dakkapel onder plat in het dakschild.
Het WINKELINTERIEUR is gemoderniseerd. Het INTERIEUR van de bovenwoning bezit onder andere een tochtportaal met sierlijsten van stuc op wanden en plafond, een zwart marmeren schouw met overhoekse pilasters en consoles en verguld middenrozet in neo-empirestijl (vaas-, blad- en rankmotieven) in de woonkamer op de eerste verdieping van het voorhuis, en een dwars geplaatste kelder met tongewelf onder het voorhuis die omstreeks 1895 is uitgebreid met een gedeelte met troggewelven.

Description
Shop with flat on rectangular ground plan with a front house of three storeys and attic storey, a rear house and an intermediate section with stairwell. The building components are grouped around a small courtyard. The front house has a hipped roof with mastic slates.
The FRONT FACADE is three bays wide and has a symmetrical layout with a broad central risalit. The hardstone shop front in block bond on the first storey is articulated by pilasters with bases and simple list capitals. The front consists of a wide display window on a black granite plinth between two narrow, round-arched entrances (left to the flat and right to the shop). The display window is set beneath a wide basket arch and is flanked on either side by pilasters of black granite. The fanlights in the arch spandrels are infilled. The front closes with a frieze and a profiled drip moulding. The frieze is raised in the middle to the sill level of the window on the second storey. Here, between two brackets, is found the engraved and gilded text "Goud en Zilverwerken" with "Anno" and "1895" on either side. The brick second and third storeys are laid in cross bond and provided with yellow speckled courses at sill height. The speckled courses are fitted with plastered diamond rustication at the ends and corners of the risalit. The second storey has a large composite six-light window with profiled mullions in the central risalit, and a single-light sash window on either side. The windows close at the top with a head moulding (profiled architrave, a tile frieze with stylised floral motifs and profiled cornice) and brick blind segment arches. The brick REAR FACADE of the front house is laid in cross bond and has two barn windows with fanlights each on the second and third storeys and a broad roof dormer with flat roof in the roof plane.
The SHOP INTERIOR has been modernised. The INTERIOR of the flat possesses amongst other features a draught porch with stucco mouldings on walls and ceiling, a black marble fireplace with slant pilasters and brackets and gilded central rosette in Neo-Empire style (urn, leaf and foliate motifs) in the living room on the first floor of the front house, and a transversely positioned cellar with barrel vault beneath the front house which around 1895 was extended with a section with trough vaults.
