Omschrijving
Inleiding.
Op enige afstand van de weg gelegen voormalig VAKANTIEOORD voor kinderen, thans geheten 'Adrianahoeve' en als woonhuis in gebruik. De nokrichting van dit langgerekte, dwarse pand vormt een scherpe hoek met Kinderbos maar staat loodrecht op de Jacob Reutenlaan. Drie gevels liggen vrij op het erf, rechts opzij een aangebouwde stal van later datum, die buiten de bescherming valt. Rondom een siertuin met diverse bomen waaronder een grote eik, akker- en weidelandpercelen en zandwegen.
Het uit circa 1850 daterende pand is opgetrokken in een Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant met detaillering uit de Neo-Gotiek. In de noordgevel van het aansluitende stalgebouw is een eerste steen ingemetseld (vermoedelijk herplaatst) met beschadigde tekst: 'REPARATA / 20 JULIJ 1855 / DE EERSTE STEEN GELEGT / DOOR / (...)H.R. (...)STRU(...)MAN(...) / 'OUD (...)0 JAAR'. In de vorige eeuw was ter plaatse een vakantieoord voor kinderen gevestigd dat aanvankelijk door een Oirschotse dominee werd geëxploiteerd. In 1925 werd het houtrijke gebied Kinderbos eigendom van de familie van ontginner Jacob Reuten; de boerderijnaam 'Adrianahoeve' herinnert nog aan het echtpaar Reuten. In de loop der jaren heeft het pand enkele wijzigingen ondergaan. De kelder is gedicht. De oud-Hollandse pannen van het voorschild zijn vervangen, schoorstenen deels vernieuwd. Geheel rechts in de voorgevel is een venster gewijzigd in een deur. Langs de luifel liep oorspronkelijk een mastgoot. In de achtergevel zijn enkele nieuwe gevelopeningen gemaakt.
Omschrijving.
Het pand beslaat een rechthoekige plattegrond en telt één bouwlaag met zolderverdieping onder een zadeldak. Voorschild gedekt met verbeterde Hollandse pannen, achterschild met oud-Hollandse pannen. Aan de voorzijde over de gehele lengte een met bitumineuze materialen gedekte luifel met zinken lambrequins, geschraagd door ranke ijzeren kolommen met cementvoet. De asymmetrische, acht traveeën tellende voorgevel is wit gepleisterd en gebosseerd. Spitsbogige gevelopeningen. In de derde travee van links een brede beglaasde paneeldeur met pseudo-naald, in de overige traveeën (met uitzondering van geheel rechts) een venster met vierruits stolpraam en bovenlicht met suikerbroodroeden. Alle vensters zijn voorzien van klampluiken; de deur en de bovenlichten zijn omrand met een geprofileerde stuclijst, bekroond met een kuifstuk. Boven de luifel een geprofileerde daklijst met plansiergoot.
Linker kopgevel en achtergevel in schoon metselwerk in kruisverband. In de kopgevel de sporen van een gedicht kelderlicht. Verder een uitgemetselde schoorsteen met aan weerszijden een zoldervenster met hardstenen lekdorpels. Asymmetrische, vijf traveeën tellende achtergevel met gepleisterde geprofileerde daklijst met plansiergoot. In de tweede, derde en vijfde travee gewijzigde zesruits schuifvensters met hardstenen lekdorpels, en in de vierde travee een mogelijk niet-oorspronkelijke deur. Alle gevelopeningen onder een gepleisterde segmentboog met aan de bovenzijde een geprofileerde lijst op kleine hoekconsoles en een gebouchardeerd boogveld. Het pand is inwendig deels gemoderniseerd. In de gang achter de voordeur en in de hieraan grenzende twee vertrekken ter zijde van de kopgevel diverse uitbundige stucplafonds.
Waardering.
Het object is van algemeen belang. Het heeft als kindervakantieoord cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkelingen in de sociale zorgsector en de recreatieve sector. Als ontginningsboerderij is het object verder van belang in relatie tot de ontginning van het bosrijke gebied Kinderbos. Het is van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van kindervakantieoorden. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de bijzondere ornamentiek in diverse details. Het object, bestaande uit het voormalige vakantieoord/ontginningsboerderij, siertuin, akkers, weiden en zandwegen heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de kwaliteit van de bebouwing en de historisch-ruimtelijke relatie met de directe landelijke omgeving in het licht van de (voormalige) functies van het object. Het is van verder belang wegens de zeldzaamheid van de gekozen bouwstijl.

Introduction.
Located at some distance from the road, a former HOLIDAY RESORT for children, now called 'Adrianahoeve' and in use as a residential house. The ridge direction of this elongated, transverse building forms a sharp angle with Kinderbos but stands perpendicular to the Jacob Reutenlaan. Three gables lie free on the plot; to the right a later added stable, which falls outside the protection. Around it an ornamental garden with various trees including a large oak, arable and pasture land and sand roads.
The building, dating from circa 1850, is constructed in a Craftsman-traditional building style with detailing from the Neo-Gothic. In the north gable of the adjoining stable building a foundation stone is built in (presumably relocated) with damaged text: 'REPARATA / 20 JULIJ 1855 / DE EERSTE STEEN GELEGT / DOOR / (...)H.R. (...)STRU(...)MAN(...) / 'OUD (...)0 JAAR'. In the previous century a holiday resort for children was established here which was initially operated by a clergyman from Oirschot. The building has a rectangular floor plan and comprises one storey with attic storey under a gabled roof. Front roof covered with improved Dutch tiles, rear roof with old Dutch tiles. At the front over the entire length a canopy covered with bituminous materials with zinc lambrequins, supported by slender iron columns with cement base. The asymmetrical front gable, comprising eight bays, is white plastered and rusticated. Pointed arched window openings. In the third bay from the left a wide glazed panel door with pseudo-nail, in the remaining bays (with the exception of the far right) a window with four-pane casement and fanlight with quatrefoil glazing bars. All windows are provided with hinged shutters; the door and the fanlights are framed with a moulded stucco band, crowned with a ornamental crest. Above the canopy a moulded cornice with plank moulding.
Left end gable and rear gable in fair-faced brickwork in Flemish bond. In the end gable traces of a filled-in cellar light. Further an outer masonry chimney with on either side a attic window with stone drip sills. Asymmetrical rear gable comprising five bays with plastered moulded cornice with plank moulding. In the second, third and fifth bay altered six-pane sash windows with stone drip sills, and in the fourth bay a possibly non-original door. All window openings under a plastered segmental arch with at the top a moulded band on small corner consoles and a bushed arch field. The building has been partly modernised internally. In the passage behind the front door and in the two adjacent rooms to the side of the end gable various ornate stucco ceilings.
Valuation.
The object is of general interest. As a children's holiday resort it has cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of developments in the social care and recreational sectors. As a land reclamation farm the object is further of importance in relation to the reclamation of the wooded area Kinderbos. It is of importance for the typological development of children's holiday resorts. It has architectural-historical value because of the distinctive ornamentation in various details. The object, comprising the former holiday resort/land reclamation farm, ornamental garden, arable land, pasture and sand roads, has ensemble values because of the quality of the structure and the historical-spatial relationship with the direct rural surroundings in light of the (former) functions of the object. It is of further importance because of the rarity of the chosen building style.
