Omschrijving
KOSTERSWONING, gebouwd in 1909 in sobere Um-1800 stijl naar ontwerp van H. H. Kramer. De woning vormt een geheel met de Doopsgezinde Kerk.
De Tuinstraatgevel van de woning heeft een centraal uit het gevelvlak springende topgevel met een ingangsportiek voorzien van zijlichten; hierboven een dubbel venster onder een rondboog; links hiervan twee T-vensters onder een rondboog met een negen-ruits bovenlicht; rechts drie hoge T-vensters met twaalf-ruits bovenlicht; in het dakvlak aan weerszijden van de topgevel twee dakkapellen met zes-ruits bovenlicht.
De Bleekstraatgevel is een topgevel, die iets voor de kerk naar binnen springt, met op de begane grond een pui waarin drie vensters met twee zes-ruits- en één twaalf-ruits bovenlicht; op de verdieping een dubbel venster voorzien van luiken, met halfronde bovenlichten onder een rondboog.
De achtergevel die samenvalt met die van de kerk is blind.
Het sobere INTERIEUR van de woning is vrij gaaf en bevat onder meer balkenplafonds; alle binnenkozijnen en deuren zijn origineel; in de woonkamer een schouw met zeven Makkumer tegels met schepen; op de vliering is een toegang tot het orgelbalkon. In de consistorie, die toegang geeft tot de kerk, zijn onder meer een originele hoekschouw met houten boezem aanwezig en een balkenplafond.

De kosterij van de Doopsgezinde Kerk te Makkum is van algemeen cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch belang:

SEXTON'S HOUSE, built in 1909 in sober late-18th-century style designed by H. H. Kramer. The house forms a unit with the Mennonite Church.
The Tuinstraat facade of the house has a centrally projecting stepped gable with an entrance portico provided with sidelights; above this a double window under a round arch; to the left of this two T-windows under a round arch with a nine-pane fanlight; to the right three tall T-windows with twelve-pane fanlight; in the roof plane on either side of the stepped gable two roof dormers with six-pane fanlight.
The Bleekstraat facade is a stepped gable, which projects slightly inward in front of the church, with on the ground floor a shop front in which three windows with two six-pane and one twelve-pane fanlight; on the first floor a double window provided with shutters, with half-round fanlights under a round arch.
The rear facade which coincides with that of the church is blank.
The sober INTERIOR of the house is fairly intact and contains among other things beam ceilings; all internal window frames and doors are original; in the living room a fireplace with seven Makkum tiles with ships; on the upper storey is access to the organ gallery. In the vestry, which provides access to the church, there are among other things an original corner fireplace with wooden mantelpiece and a beam ceiling.
