Omschrijving
Omschrijving BADHUIS (MIKWE). Het in kruisverband gemetselde bakstenen pand, is opgetrokken op rechthoekige grondslag en telt één bouwlaag onder een met overwegend gesmoorde Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak met schild aan de achterzijde. Op beide zijschilden staat een rookkanaal. De asymmetrische VOORGEVEL bevat in het midden en rechts een toegang met houten deur. De toegang rechts heeft een enkelruits bovenlicht boven een geprofileerd kalf. De zolder heeft een houten luik. De toegang in het midden en het luik worden ontlast door een halfsteens rollaag, de toegang rechts door een steens rollaag. De LINKER ZIJGEVEL heeft een gepleisterde plint en bevat twee T-vensters ter plaatse van de badruimte en het daarachter gelegen vertrek en een 4-ruits draairaam ter plaatse van de stookruimte. De vensters worden ontlast door een halfsteens rollaag. De ACHTERGEVEL is niet opgenomen. De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL is blind uitgevoerd. In het INTERIEUR van het voormalige badhuis, bevinden zich drie vertrekken, twee links en één aan de achterzijde over de gehele breedte, en een gang. Het vertrek achter de voorgevel zal hebben gediend als stookruimte. In de voormalige badkamer, het vertrek in het midden van het gebouw, bevindt zich een L-vormig bad. De badrand is van hardsteen en de treden van het bad zijn belegd met wit marmer. De wanden zijn mogelijk eveneens uitgevoerd in wit marmer. Description BATHHOUSE (MIKWE). The brick building, laid in English bond, erected on a rectangular ground plan and comprising one storey under a gabled roof covered predominantly with dampened Dutch tiles with a shield at the rear. On both side shields stands a flue. The asymmetrical FRONT FACADE contains in the centre and right an entrance with wooden door. The entrance to the right has a single-glazed fanlight above a profiled threshold. The loft has a wooden hatch. The entrance in the centre and the hatch are relieved by a half-brick course, the entrance to the right by a full-brick course. The LEFT SIDE GABLE has a plastered plinth and contains two T-windows at the location of the bathing room and the room behind it and a 4-pane casement window at the location of the stoke room. The windows are relieved by a half-brick course. The REAR GABLE is not recorded. The RIGHT SIDE GABLE is executed blind. In the INTERIOR of the former bathhouse, there are three rooms, two to the left and one at the rear across the full width, and a corridor. The room behind the front facade served as a stoke room. In the former bathing room, the room in the middle of the building, is an L-shaped bath. The bath rim is of hardstone and the bath steps are lined with white marble. The walls are possibly likewise executed in white marble. In the rear room was presumably a toilet. The corridor is laid with black and yellow tiles in diamond pattern with edge finishing.
