Inleiding
Het STOOKHOK is in 1910 gebouwd aan de noord-oostzijde en tegen een steunbeer van de Hervormde kerk van Spannum (apart monumentnummer 21559) ten behoeve van de centrale verwarmingsinstallatie van de kerk, in een Ambachtelijk-tradtionele bouwtrant met enige verwijzing naar de Chalet-stijl. Het schoorsteenkanaal is opnieuw gemetseld; de oude installatie is vervangen.
Omschrijving
Het hok op vierkante grondslag is opgetrokken in bruine baksteen in staand verband; voor twee gevels is gebruik gemaakt van de buitengevel van de kerk en de steunbeer. In de oksel van steunbeer en gevel een gemetselde schoorsteen. Het hok heeft twee topgevels met overstekende dakschilden, bekleed met zink en versierd met een opengewerkte en gelobde windveer en een siermakelaar. In de oostelijke gevel een getoogde paneeldeur onder een rollaag van afwisselend gele en bruine baksteen, een getoogd, zesruits schuifvenster onder een rollaag van afwisselend gele en bruine baksteen. In de geveltop een gedenksteen met kepervormige beëindiging onder een rollaag van afwisselend gele en bruine baksteen. Het opschrift luidt: Centrale Verwarming AANGEBRACHT 23 JULI 1910 ONDER BEH. The hut has two gabled roofs with overhanging roof covering, clad with zinc and decorated with an openwork and lobed weathervane and ornamental brickwork. In the eastern facade an arched panelled door under a course of alternating yellow and brown brick, an arched, six-pane sash window under a course of alternating yellow and brown brick. In the gable top a commemorative stone with herringbone termination under a course of alternating yellow and brown brick. The inscription reads: Central Heating INSTALLED 23 JULY 1910 UNDER SUPERVISION OF THE CHURCH COUNCIL BY I.J.A. JONGEMA. J.J. OORDMANS. A.A. BERGSMA. In the northern facade an arched, six-pane sash window under a course of alternating yellow and brown brick.
The INTERIOR of the boiler house has a wooden floor, plastered walls and a basement storey of the former boiler.
