Omschrijving complexonderdeel 2
De APPELSCHUUR is een smal en hoog pandje dat twee bouwlagen telt. Het is opgetrokken in gele ijsselsteen (kruisverband) onder een met gesmoorde en rode Hollandse pannen gedekt, iets overkragend zadeldak.
Voorgevel (oost) met op de begane grond, centraal geplaatst een entree binnen een houten geprofileerde omlijsting. Op de verdieping twee vierruits vensters.
Ter plaatse van de zolder verdieping eveneens een vierruits venster. De noordelijke zijgevel is nagenoeg blind, ter plaatse van de beide verdiepingen zijn staafankers bevestigd. De zuidelijke zijgevel heeft op de begane grond drie vensters met luiken onder strekkenbogen van anderhalve steen. Op de verdieping een klein vierruits venster. In de achtergevel (west) is op de begane grond een venster met luiken onder een strekkenboog van anderhalve steen geplaatst. Daarboven een vierruits venster. De zolderverdieping heeft een luik met hijsbalk, geflankeerd door vierruits vensters.
Waardering
Appelschuur behorend bij huis "Souburg", is van cultuurhistorische waarde als typologisch voorbeeld van een appelschuur annex wagenschuur die tevens als dienstwoning in gebruik was. Daarnaast vanwege de ensemblewaarde.
De appelschuur is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een in eenvoudige Traditioneel Ambachtelijke bouwstijl opgetrokken appelschuur. Het pand is in redelijke mate gaaf.
De appelschuur maakt deel uit van het complex "Souburg" en is beeldbepalend gelegen aan de Alblas in het buitengebied van Alblasserdam.

The APPLE STORE is a narrow and tall building that has two storeys. It is built in yellow Ijssel brick (Flemish bond) under a gabled roof covered with muted and red Dutch tiles, slightly overhanging.
Front facade (east) with on the ground floor, centrally placed an entrance within a wooden profiled frame. On the first floor two four-paned windows.
At the level of the attic storey likewise a four-paned window. The northern side facade is almost blank, at the level of both storeys rod anchors are attached. The southern side facade has three windows with shutters under stretcher arches of one and a half brick on the ground floor. On the first floor a small four-paned window.
