Omschrijving
Inleiding

Description
Introduction
Nursery dwelling from 1873 situated on the west side of the Kleine Houtweg, with water well and rainwater tank. The nursery dwelling is positioned with its ridge parallel to the Kleine Houtweg. In 1995-1996 the building was restored, during which the west gable, which was in poor condition, was rebuilt and the windows and doors were renewed. Originally the southern half of the building (now kitchen-living room) was used as a byre for one or two cows. However, the stable was already relocated in 1878 to a new outbuilding on the left side of the rear wall (demolished during restoration and rebuilt).
Description
A dwelling of one storey built on a rectangular ground plan (11.10 x 4.60 m), with a gabled roof covered in red Dutch tiles running parallel to the road. A chimney made of red machine brick, built after the original construction, stands at the centre of the ridge. The half-brick outer walls are built above a cemented plinth in red hand-moulded brick (original size approx. 22 x 5 cm) with flush joint. Along the front and rear walls runs a gutter on corbels. The side gables, executed as spout gables, have ornamental wall anchors at the height of the floor joists and beams, and are topped with a roll moulding. The front gable (E) contains two T-windows. Against the front gable on the right is a square rainwater tank built in brick with wooden lid.
On the left side gable (S) the front door is situated on the right, and to its left a two-part window. Both side gables have a shutter in the centre above. The right side gable (N) has a sash window on the left and below on the right a small cellar hatch behind which are three burglar bars. The rear gable (W) of the dwelling has, at the height of the stable outbuilding, an original hinged cellar hatch consisting of three broad sections. Through this hatch potatoes could be poured into the cellar from the outbuilding. The living room in the right half of the building is still largely in its original state. In the west wall, composed of broad vertical sections, there are two double doors behind which is a bed-cupboard (the southern one has been removed), and between them a single door giving access to a cellar cupboard. By removing the sloping hinged hatch of the cupboard - the hatch, composed of two broad sections, is fitted with two steps to reach the upper shelves in the cupboard - one reaches via a wooden staircase of four steps a low semi-basement cellar space, which extends under both bed-cupboards and up to the north gable. The cellar walls are cemented and the flat ceiling consists of broad sections. On the floor lay red glazed tiles. In the west wall of the room on the right there is another single door behind which is a cupboard. All doors in the west wall are composed of two or three broad sections, to which transverse and mirror clamps are attached on the front. The living room, like the kitchen-living room in the left half of the building, has an original beam ceiling. The attic is fitted with an open roof truss structure. In front of the left side gable is a round built-in water well with a square concrete parapet. The parapet is topped by a concrete slab in which is set a round well cover of galvanised iron. In the interior there is, among other features, in the living room an undercellar bed-cupboard wall (W) and a beam ceiling.
Valuation
The dwelling with associated rainwater tank and water well is of general interest on account of its cultural and architectural-historical value as a largely well-preserved nursery dwelling from the third quarter of the nineteenth century.
