Inleiding
BOERDERIJ "Humosa", in 1862 gebouwd in opdracht van de vervener Arend Berends. De boerderij staat aan de Dedemsvaart en heeft, evenals de andere boerderijen langs deze vaart, een monumentaal en naar de weg gekeerd voorhuis. Links van de boerderij (W) is een aangebouwde schuur, waarvan het gepleisterde deel het tussenlid tussen schuur en boerderij vormt.
Omschrijving
Boerderij van wit gepleisterde baksteen op een grijze plint onder een met grijze Hollandse pannen gedekt afgeknot schilddak waarvan de goot rust op klossen. Voorgevel (Z) met middenrisaliet onder een zadeldak met siervazen op de schouders en een rozetvenster in de top. Op de begane grond bestaat het risaliet uit een erker waarop een balkon geplaatst is met daarachter glasdeuren. Het balkon heeft een overkapping op gietijzeren kolommen.
In de zijgevels van het risaliet zijn terrasdeuren en op de verdieping rondboogvormige vensters. Aan weerszijden van het risaliet overkappingen op gietijzeren kolommen met daarachter twee vensters. De voorgevel heeft zesruits vensters waarvan de bovenlichten in een profiellijst gevat zijn. In de linker (W) zijgevel is de entree met bovenlicht onder een hoofdgestel en drie vensters geplaatst. De rechter zijgevel (O) heeft drie vensters en dubbele terrasdeuren. In de achtergevel een deur en enkele vensters. Boven deze gevel bevindt zich in het midden een dakkapel met twee vensters en een rozetraam in de top onder een steekkap.
De aangebouwde schuur is opgetrokken in rode machinale baksteen en heeft een rietgedekt wolfdak. De voorgevel heeft rechts een gepleisterd deel dat boven de deur en het venster wordt afgesloten door een gepleisterde lijst; voorts een baander waarboven een hooiluik en enkele vensters.
In de zijgevels rondboogvormige gietijzeren stalramen en rechtgesloten staldeuren.

FARMHOUSE "Humosa", built in 1862 on the orders of the peat dyer Arend Berends. Description
Farmhouse of white-rendered brickwork on a grey plinth beneath a hipped roof covered with grey Dutch tiles, the gutter resting on corbels. Front facade (S) with a central risalit under a gabled roof with ornamental vases on the shoulders and a rose window in the gable. On the ground floor the risalit consists of a bay window on which a balcony is placed with glass doors behind it. The balcony is covered by a canopy on cast-iron columns.
In the side facades of the risalit are terrace doors and on the upper storey segmental-arch windows. On either side of the risalit are canopies on cast-iron columns with two windows behind them. The front facade has six-light windows, the fanlights of which are set in a moulding. In the left (W) side facade is the entrance with fanlight under a doorhead and three windows. The right side facade (E) has three windows and double terrace doors. In the rear facade a door and some windows. Above this facade in the centre is a roof dormer with two windows and a rose window in the gable under a steep roof.
The attached barn is built in red machine-made brickwork and has a reed-thatched half-hipped roof. The front facade has on the right a rendered section which is finished above the door and window by a rendered moulding; also a string course above which is a hay loft and some windows.
In the side facades are segmental-arch cast-iron stable windows and square-headed stable doors.
