Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG, in wezen XIX; heeft te lijden gehad van de Duitse inundatie van 1945; bestaande uit a. oprijlaan b. parkgedeelte c. bosgedeelte d. moestuin en boomgaard en erf ad a.: de oprijlaan leidt van de Donkereweg naar het erf (verharding met schelpen) naast huis en koetshuis en wordt hiervan gescheiden door een groep rhododendrons; de laan is beplant met enkele rijen essen en struiken in de onderlaag; bestrating met veldkeien. ad b.: het parkdeel bestaat uit het grote gazon naast de oprijlaan en tussen het huis en de weg; enkele jaren geleden is er opnieuw vorm gegeven aan de grote slingervijver; ook zijn er weer jonge solitairen en heestervakken geplant; paden zijn (nog) niet teruggebracht. ad c.: meer dan driekwart van het complexgebied bestaat uit jong bos met nieuw rondgaand pad; hierin liggen de tuinmanswoning (zie onder 4), de ronde vijver en het grand-canal; dit canal, dat georiënteerd is op de meest westelijke travee (voorheen tuinkoepel) van het huis Welgelegen, dat buiten het complex aan de ander kant van de Donkereweg staat, is in 1990 gerestaureerd en is aan weerszijden beplant met linden; ten westen hiervan ligt een kleine ronde bosvijver. ad d.: direct ten zuiden van het huis en koetshuis ligt de voormalige moestuin annex bongerd, nu gedeeltelijk in gebruik als siertuin; eromheen een jonge beukenhaag. Het erf ligt voornamelijk ten noorden en westen (achterzijde) van het koetshuis; verhard met grijze schelpen en achter het koetshuis een oude klinkerbestrating; op het erf twee gemetselde putten voor regenwater. Vanaf het koetshuis een oud gebogen klinkerpad naar boomgaard.

PARK LAYOUT, essentially 19th century; suffered from the German inundation of 1945; consisting of a. drive b. park area c. woodland area d. kitchen garden and orchard and yard ad a.: the drive leads from the Donkereweg to the yard (surfaced with shells) beside the house and coach house and is separated from these by a group of rhododendrons; the lane is planted with several rows of ash trees and shrubs in the understorey; surfacing with field stone. ad b.: the park area consists of the large lawn beside the drive and between the house and the road; a few years ago the large winding pond was reshaped; young solitary trees and shrub beds have also been replanted; paths have not (yet) been restored. ad c.: more than three-quarters of the complex area consists of young woodland with a new circular path; within it lie the gardener's house (see under 4), the round pond and the grand canal; this canal, which is oriented towards the westernmost bay (formerly a garden pavilion) of the house Welgelegen, which stands outside the complex on the other side of the Donkereweg, was restored in 1990 and is planted with lime trees on either side; to the west of this lies a small round woodland pond. ad d.: directly south of the house and coach house lies the former kitchen garden adjoining the orchard, now partially used as an ornamental garden; surrounded by a young beech hedge. The yard lies mainly to the north and west (rear) of the coach house; surfaced with grey shells and behind the coach house an old brick surfacing; on the yard two brick wells for rainwater.
