Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG, midden 19e eeuw; de parkaanleg bestaat uit een patroon van enkele min of meer rechte lanen, waartussen weilanden liggen; de eigenlijke parkaanleg in landschapsstijl, direct aan de westzijde van het huis, is zeer bescheiden van omvang en ligt in de lengte aan de noordzijde langs de oprijlaan, de Vennelaan; dit is de meest zuidelijke laan, die van west naar oost loopt; het kleine park bestaat uit het omgrachte huiseiland en -direct ten westen ervan - een slingervijver in de as van het huis met een eilandje en omgeven door smalle bosstroken met enkele oude monumentale eiken en beuken; op het eilandje staan een eik en rhododendrons; het huis staat in de uiterste zuidoosthoek van het eiland en heeft aan de voorkant (west) een druppelvormig oprijpad, waar binnen een gazon met een zonnewijzer (zie onder 6); de noordelijke strook van het eiland heeft een beplanting met oude loofbomen en struiken, alsmede restanten van borders; via een kort, loodrecht op de oprijlaan staand pad en een dam in de gracht komt men op het huiseiland; de noordgrens van het beschermde complex wordt gevormd door de Frieschelaan; deze met puin verharde laan loopt vanaf de Hoofdweg in oost-noordoostelijke richting en heeft een onregelmatige beplanting van enkele rijen eik en beuk; de Vennelaan is aan de noordzijde beplant met een dubbele rij jonge eiken in driehoeksverband en aan de zuidzijde met een enkele rij; de Vennelaan en de Frieschelaan zijn met elkaar verbonden door een zandlaan, die vanaf de Frieschelaan naar het zuidoosten loopt en direct achter het huis, langs de oostarm van de gracht met een knik loodrecht eindigt op de Vennelaan; de laan is onregelmatig beplant met eik, beuk en linde; dan is er nog een zandlaan, die, min of meer parallel lopend aan de Vennelaan en de Frieschelaan, bij de Hoofdweg begint en eindigt op de eerder genoemde zandlaan, ongeveer halverwege de lengte ervan; de beplanting bestaat uit enkele rijen eik; ten slotte is er een kort onregelmatig beplant zandlaantje, dat vanaf de noordrand van de vijver noordwaarts loopt tot aan de hiervoor genoemde laan; tussen de lanen liggen weilanden, die vrijwel geheel omringd zijn door sloten.

PARK LAYOUT, mid-19th century; the park layout consists of a pattern of several more or less straight avenues, between which meadows lie; the actual park layout in landscape style, directly on the west side of the house, is very modest in extent and lies lengthwise on the north side along the drive, the Vennelaan; this is the most southerly avenue, running from west to east; the small park consists of the moated house island and - directly to the west of it - a meandering pond on the axis of the house with an islet and surrounded by narrow wooded strips with some old monumental oaks and beeches; on the islet stand an oak and rhododendrons; the house stands in the far southeast corner of the island and has at the front (west) a tear-drop-shaped drive, within which a lawn with a sundial (see below 6); the northern strip of the island has plantings of old deciduous trees and shrubs, as well as remains of borders; via a short path perpendicular to the drive and a dam in the moat one reaches the house island; the northern boundary of the protected complex is formed by the Frieschelaan; this avenue, hardened with rubble, runs from the Hoofdweg in an east-northeast direction and has an irregular planting of several rows of oak and beech; the Vennelaan is on the north side planted with a double row of young oaks in triangular spacing and on the south side with a single row; the Vennelaan and the Frieschelaan are connected to each other by a sandy lane, which runs from the Frieschelaan towards the southeast and ends directly behind the house, along the east arm of the moat with a bend perpendicular to the Vennelaan; the lane is irregularly planted with oak, beech and linden; then there is another sandy lane, which, running more or less parallel to the Vennelaan and the Frieschelaan, begins at the Hoofdweg and ends on the aforementioned sandy lane, approximately halfway along its length; the planting consists of several rows of oak; finally there is a short irregularly planted sandy lane, which runs from the north edge of the pond northwards to the aforementioned lane; between the lanes lie meadows, which are almost entirely surrounded by ditches.
