Omschrijving onderdeel 2:
PARKAANLEG; de aanleg bestaat uit het centraal gelegen bosrijke deel met twee vijvers: de aanleg van Roodbaard, ong. 1827; het hoofdmoment hiervan zijn de twee vijvers, die zeer verschillend van vorm en grootte zijn; de grootste ligt min of meer centraal in het complexgebied en heeft twee armen en een uitstulping; in het westelijke deel ligt een niervormig eiland met een lage heuvel, waarop met name veel beuken; ten noorden van de grote vijver ligt de andere, kleinere vijver; deze strekt zich uit in noord-zuid richting en heeft een langgerekte en geschulpte vorm; aan het noordelijke einde, op de rand van het park, ligt een hoog heuveltje met een solitaire linde. Tussen de beide vijvers bevindt zich de open plek, waar tot 1896 het landhuis stond; na de afbraak ervan is er geen nieuw huis gebouwd. Op deze huisplaats staat aan de oostzijde naast de grote vijver een groepje oude linden; verder enkele solitaire beuken; ten noordoosten van de huisplaats en ten oosten van de kleine vijver bevindt zich de plek van de oude moestuin; er staan nu jonge fruitbomen. Aan de oostzijde van het complex, bij het ingangshek (zie onder 3) aan de Hoofdweg, begint de oprijlaan, die met een flauwe lange boog naar de huisplaats leidt; op dit punt vervolgt het tracé z'n weg als een rechte laan naar de westgrens van het complex; ook deze rechte laan geeft toegang tot het park. De gebogen laan heeft geen laanbeplanting en is verhard met gemalen rode natuursteen; het rechte stuk laan naar de Hooiweg is een zandweg met een beplanting van oude eiken, waarvan vele al verdwenen zijn. De in elkaars verlengde liggende lanen (in oost-westrichting) verdelen de buitenplaats in twee ongeveer even grote delen. In het midden van het noordelijk deel ligt de reeds genoemde kleine vijver, door een klein stuk oud bos omgeven; om de langgerekte vijver loopt een pad; ten oosten van dit bosje ligt een groot min of meer vierkant weiland met in het midden een groep van 5 oude eiken en twee drinkpoelen; aan de oostzijde wordt het weiland begrensd door de Hoofdweg; een deel van de wei is omgeven door een meidoornhaag; met een uitstulping reikt de wei in de noordwesthoek tot aan het heuveltje ten noorden van de vijver. Ten westen van het bosje liggen twee langgerekte weilanden, gescheiden door een houtwal met enkele oude eiken en een zandpaadje; aan de westkant grenzen de weiden aan de Hooiweg; de noordwei wordt aan de noordkant begrensd door de Wieringaslaan met dubbele rijen oude eik; deze laan zet zich als noordgrens van het complex oostwaarts door tot aan de Hoofdweg; langs de westgrens van de wei een meidoornhaag; de wei ten zuiden van de houtwal heeft langs de westgrens een laan met linden, die zich zuidelijk van de westelijke toegangslaan voortzet tot in en om de zuidwesthoek van het complex. In het midden van het zuidelijk parkdeel ligt de grote vijver, direct ten zuiden van de huisplaats; in het bos direct ten oosten, zuiden en westen van de vijver ligt een dicht patroon van slingerpaden, gedeeltelijk nog volgens de Roodbaardlijnen; er is ook een systeem van smalle slootjes; langs de westgrens van het westelijk bosdeel liggen een doolhof en een berceau van beuk uit het begin van de 20e eeuw; direct ten westen van de huisplaats en ten zuiden van de westelijke oprijlaan ligt de hertenkamp met drie solitaire eiken en drie groepjes eik; de gehele kamp is omgeven door een sloot, die langs de zuidkant een uitstulping in de hertenwei heeft; in de zuidwesthoek van het complex ligt, loodrecht op de hertenwei, een klein langgerekt weiland; op de scheiding ervan met het bos ligt de reeds genoemde berceau; het bos ten oosten en zuidoosten van de grote vijver dateert slecht ten dele uit de tijd van Roodbaard; een groot deel is in 1948 aangelegd op oude weidepercelen.

PARK LAYOUT; the layout consists of the centrally located wooded part with two ponds: the Roodbaard layout, c. 1827; its principal feature is the two ponds, which are very different in form and size; the largest lies roughly centrally in the complex area and has two arms and a bulge; in the western part lies a kidney-shaped island with a low hill, on which particularly many beeches; to the north of the large pond lies the other, smaller pond; this extends in a north-south direction and has an elongated and scalloped form; at the northern end, on the edge of the park, lies a high hillock with a solitary linden tree. Between the two ponds lies the open space where until 1896 the manor house stood; after its demolition no new house was built. On this house site stands on the east side next to the large pond a group of old lindens; further several solitary beeches; to the northeast of the house site and to the east of the small pond lies the location of the old kitchen garden; now young fruit trees stand there. On the east side of the complex, at the entrance gate (see below under 3) on the Hoofdweg, the entrance drive begins, which leads with a gentle long curve to the house site; at this point the route continues as a straight avenue to the western boundary of the complex; this straight avenue too gives access to the park. The curved avenue has no avenue planting and is surfaced with ground red natural stone; the straight section of avenue to the Hooiweg is a sandy path with planting of old oaks, many of which have already disappeared. The avenues lying in each other's extension (in an east-west direction) divide the country estate into two approximately equal parts. In the middle of the northern part lies the aforementioned small pond, surrounded by a small piece of old woodland; around the elongated pond runs a path; to the east of this wood lies a large roughly square pasture with in the middle a group of 5 old oaks and two drinking pools; on the east side the pasture is bounded by the Hoofdweg; part of the meadow is surrounded by a hawthorn hedge; with a bulge the meadow in the northwest corner extends to the hillock to the north of the pond. To the west of the wood lie two elongated pastures, separated by a timber strip with several old oaks and a sandy path; on the west side the meadows border on the Hooiweg; the northern meadow is bounded on the north side by the Wieringaslaan with double rows of old oaks; this avenue continues as the northern boundary of the complex eastwards to the Hoofdweg; along the western boundary of the meadow a hawthorn hedge; the meadow to the south of the timber strip has along the western boundary an avenue with lindens, which continues southward from the western entrance drive to and around the southwest corner of the complex. In the middle of the southern park part lies the large pond, directly to the south of the house site; in the wood directly to the east, south and west of the pond lies a dense pattern of winding paths, partially still according to the Roodbaard lines; there is also a system of narrow ditches; along the western boundary of the western wood part lie a maze and a pergola of beech from the early 20th century; directly to the west of the house site and to the south of the western entrance drive lies the deer enclosure with three solitary oaks and three groups of oak; the entire enclosure is surrounded by a ditch, which along the south side has a bulge into the deer meadow; in the southwest corner of the complex lies, perpendicular to the deer meadow, a small elongated pasture; on the division of this with the wood lies the aforementioned pergola; the wood to the east and southeast of the large pond dates only in part from the time of Roodbaard; a large part was laid out in 1948 on old pasture plots.
