Inleiding
WOONHUIS de Marsch is het restant van een traditioneel vormgegeven boerderij (landheren-type) gebouwd in 1867 in opdracht van A. Hesselink. Gevelsteen met initialen A.H. aan weerskanten van de deur. In 1978 werd de boerderij met zorg verbouwd naar ontwerp van Ruud Visser, in opdracht van de familie Jorritsma. Meer recentelijk is de schuur verwoest waardoor de bescherming alleen betrekking heefop het oorspronkelijke woonhuis. Het woonhuis, met enkele Art Nouveau kenmerken,is gelegen in een landschappelijk aangelegde tuin met daarin onder meer een vijven oprijlanen met beuken en eiken.
Omschrijving
Verdiepingloos en deels onderkelderd woonhuis gebaseerd op een een rechthoekig grondplan, opgetrokken uit baksteen en gedekt door een schilddak met pannen. Geprofileerde daklijst; twee schoorstenen met kappen. De gevelopbouw wordt bepaald door vensters met wenkbrauwen; kozijnen met rondgezette hoeken; persiennes. De symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel heeft in het midden een dubbele paneeldeur met Art Nouveau snijwerk; gevelsteen met initialen A.H.; glas-in-lood bovenlicht; bewerkte consoles onder het balkon; gemetselde dakkapel met geschulpte windverenen twee naast elkaar geplaatste openslaande deuren met bovenlicht. De zuidgevel heeft een kelderraam en een klein raam voor een opkamer. Waardering

RESIDENCE de Marsch is the remnant of a traditionally designed farmhouse (landowning type) built in 1867 commissioned by A. Hesselink. Foundation stone with initials A.H. on either side of the door. In 1978 the farmhouse was carefully reconstructed according to a design by Ruud Visser, commissioned by the Jorritsma family. More recently the barn was destroyed so the protection relates only to the original residence. Single-storey and partly cellaraged residence based on a rectangular ground plan, built of brick and covered by a hipped roof with tiles. Profiled roof cornice; two chimneys with caps. The facade composition is determined by windows with eyebrow pediments; window frames with rounded corners; shutters. The symmetrically arranged front facade has in the centre a double panelled door with Art Nouveau carved work; foundation stone with initials A.H.; leaded glass fanlight; worked consoles under the balcony; brick dormer with sculpted wind braces and two adjacent opening doors with fanlight.
