Omschrijving onderdeel 2: PARKAANLEG, (XIXb).
Het park is qua lay-out een landschappelijk park; hoewel er vanwege de inundatie weinig oud geboomte meer over is, geeft de jonge aanplant alweer een goede indruk van de opzet van de aanleg; het grondplan bestaat uit complexen wandelbos met slingerpaden en een vijverpartij achter en ten westen van het huis; de vijvers zijn ontstaan uit het vergraven en aan elkaar breien van de oude slotgracht en enkele rechthoekige vijvers en bassins uit de 18e eeuw; het kasteel wordt visueel aan de zijgevels ingesnoerd door geboomte; aan voor(zuid)- en achter(noord)zijde zijn door bosranden omzoomde weilanden en aan de westkant is er vanuit het huis een gezicht in lengterichting over het grootste deel van de vijver, die via een smalle lus verbonden is met de vijver, waarin de zij- en achtergevels van het huis staan; ten oosten van het weiland achter het huis lagen vroeger de moestuin en boomgaard(en); deze zijn nu met bos beplant. De voormalige oprit vanaf de Koudekerkseweg wordt niet meer gebruikt; via een nieuwe laan met eiken en asfalt-grinddek rijdt men nu langs de oostgrens van het complex om vervolgens bij de dienstwoningen af te buigen en "achterom" naar het huis te rijden; deze toegang eindigt in het ronde grindpad voor het huis; dit grindpad omvat een rond grasperk met een stervormig rozenperk, waarin een zonnewijzer (zie onder 6). Verder ligt in de noordoostelijke hoek, op de overgang van bos naar bouwland, de hofstede Hof ter Hooge.

Description of component 2: PARK LAYOUT, (19th century b).
The park is as to its layout a landscape park; although because of inundation there is little old trees left, the young planting already gives a good impression of the layout of the design; the ground plan consists of complexes of walking woodland with winding paths and a pond area behind and west of the house; the ponds have arisen from the excavation and linking together of the old castle moat and several rectangular ponds and basins from the 18th century; the castle is visually constricted at the side facades by trees; on the front (south) and rear (north) sides meadows bordered by forest edges and on the west side there is a vista from the house in the longitudinal direction over the largest part of the pond, which is connected via a narrow loop with the pond in which the side and rear facades of the house stand; east of the meadow behind the house there used to be the vegetable garden and orchard(s); these are now planted with forest. The former access road from Koudekerkseweg is no longer used; via a new avenue with oaks and asphalt-gravel surface one now drives along the east border of the complex and subsequently turns off at the service dwellings and drives "round the back" to the house; this access ends in the round gravel forecourt in front of the house; this gravel forecourt includes a round grass plot with a star-shaped rose garden, in which a sundial (see under 6). Furthermore, in the northeast corner, on the transition from forest to arable land, lies the farmstead Hof ter Hooge.
