Omschrijving

- vanwege de ouderdom;
- vanwege het in oorsprong 17de-eeuwse hoofdgebouw gebouwd naar ontwerp van de architect Ph. Vingboons (1655), dat in het begin van de 19de eeuw van zijn huidige uiterlijk is voorzien;
- van belang voor het oeuvre van de architect Philip Vingboons;
- vanwege de 18de-eeuwse koepeluitbouw aan de achtergevel;

Description
Description of component 1: (Zandpad 29; indicated on the attached map with no.1) MAIN BUILDING (Gansenhoef).
The brick, block-shaped main building from 1655 is built in sober Dutch-classical style to the design of architect Philip Vingboons; before 1832 the house was extended at the rear with a dome-shaped annex (staircase and a dome room); in the second half of the 19th century the semicircular pavilion-shaped extension was built against the side facade. The building, constructed on a T-shaped ground plan, consists of two storeys under a high hipped roof covered with Old Dutch tiles with brick chimneys on the roof ridge ends. The facades are articulated by 19th-century Empire windows, except for the tall window in the left side facade and a single sash window with glazing bars. The symmetrical front facade, five bays wide, has centrally a projecting, framed entrance section in front of which is a small stoop. The entrance section consists of a door with fanlight, a six-paned floor window and a four-paned roof dormer under a triangular pediment. The southern side facade has in the middle a window series of two six-paned windows and a framed roof dormer with triangular pediment and a hoist beam (an identical roof dormer in the north facade). To the right of this a 19th-century semicircular extension on a natural stone foundation consisting of four sandstone columns crowned by a frieze of metopes and triglyphs on which a wooden balustrade. The glazing was added in the twentieth century, as an image by Lutgers (c.1870) shows an open extension without glass. On the upper floor double balcony doors. In the northern side facade is a large Gothic round-arched window over the height of the mezzanine and upper floor. The rear facade has three corner bevels, in which a ten-paned window on the mezzanine and a basement window, except at the middle window which has a small balcony with wrought-iron railwork. Roof dormer with segmented pediment. In the INTERIOR of particular importance is the spatial arrangement determined by the long corridor (central axis); the octagonal dome room with a stuccoed buffet in Louis XVI style; coffered ceiling in the semicircular extension; Restoration 1984-1988.
