Inleiding
Voormalig WEEGBRUGHUIS met WEEGBRUG gebouwd in 1925/26 in opdracht van de Coöperatieve Weegbrug-Vereeniging te Warffum. Hiervoor kocht de vereniging in 1925 een stuk grond aan van R. Clevering. Het geheel is ontworpen door bouwkundige A. Lanting uit Warffum. In het weegbrughuis bevonden zich een kantoor en een kelder waarin de brug is geïnstalleerd. In 1964 werd de weegbrug verkocht omdat de oprit naar de brug voor de steeds langer wordende vrachtwagens te krap werd. De weeginrichting is weggehaald en nu heeft het gebouw de functie van werkplaats.
Het opvallende gele houten gebouw ligt in de bocht van de Oosterstraat op een ruime kavel grond. Een betonpad loopt naar de entree en gaat aan de andere zijde over in een smal paadje naar de oprit van de ernaast liggende woning Oosterstraat 4. Het is het enig overgebleven weegbrughuis van dit type in de provincie Groningen.
Omschrijving
WEEGBRUGHUIS met aankapping opgetrokken in hout onder een zadeldak. Het zadeldak dat is gedekt met een cementpan, heeft strakke windveren en een (nieuwe) bakgoot. In beide kopgevels, waarvan de topgevels iets overkragen, bevindt zich een hoge vierdelige, opgeklampte deur met daarbinnen een kleine deur. In de aankapping, midden achter de zuidoostgevel, bevinden zich twee houten vensters met roedenverdeling, die afsluitbaar zijn met een houten luik.
In het INTERIEUR is een kelder van gewapend beton aangelegd waarin de weegbrug is verzonken. De kantoorruimte in de aankapping is middels een schot van de weegruimte afgescheiden en heeft een houten vloer.

Former WEIGHING HOUSE with WEIGHBRIDGE built in 1925/26 on behalf of the Cooperative Weighbridge Association at Warffum. For this purpose the association purchased a piece of land in 1925 from R. The striking yellow wooden building stands in the bend of the Oosterstraat on an ample plot of land. Description
WEIGHING HOUSE with extension built in wood under a gabled roof. The gabled roof, which is covered with cement tiles, has clean weathervanes and a (new) gutter box. In both gable ends, the tops of which project slightly, there is a tall four-part clamped door with a small door inside. In the extension, in the middle behind the southeast facade, there are two wooden windows with glazing bars, which can be closed with a wooden shutter.
In the INTERIOR a reinforced concrete cellar has been constructed in which the weighbridge is sunken. The office space in the extension is separated from the weighing area by means of a partition and has a wooden floor.
