HOUSE, 18th century or older; strictly symmetrical brick house, two rooms deep, on rectangular floor plan parallel to the depth; one storey on high basement and under relatively high hipped roof with blue glazed tiles; cornice with heavy moulding all around; lead on rafters and collar ties; two corner chimneys with chimney breasts; left and right of the central front door with side lights each three sash windows; likewise in the rear facade (side Damsterdiep = north); at front facade steps with three treads in hardstone, at rear facade steps with five treads, hardstone on brick stringers. Above the front and rear door a high roof dormer with round pediment and three-light windows; on each side small dormers under saddle rooflets. In the east facade a cannonball from the French period embedded in the masonry. Internally among other things original window shutters, window sills and wood panelling. Between the ground floor and first storey there is still a maidservants' room. This has an oval window with a view of the entrance hall, the road and the apple garden. The basement adjoining the northern facade is vaulted.
