Inleiding
In de stijl van de neo-renaissance gebouwde PORTIERSWONING uit 1882 naar ontwerp van C. Muysken, onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Duinlust.
Omschrijving
De op onregelmatig T-vormig grondplan gebouwde portierswoning bestaat uit een diagonaal op de Duinlustweg staand en evenwijdig aan de hierop uitkomende oprijlaan gelegen volume onder zadeldak en een haaks hierop staand volume onder schilddak. De onderkelderde portierswoning bevat een parterre en een verdieping in een kap die is samengesteld uit de genoemde dakvormen. De samengestelde kap is bedekt met zwarte tuiles du Nord.
Het volume onder zadeldak heeft een voorgevel met een breedte van drie vensterassen en kopse zijgevels met een diepte van één vensteras. De kopse zijgevels zijn in de top gedecoreerde tuitgevels die worden afgesloten door een halfrond fronton. De voorgevel heeft boven de derde vensteras van links een onder fronton geplaatste dakkapel met klauwstukken.
Het haaks geplaatste volume onder schilddak heeft op de nokpunt een klokkestoel met bevestiging voor een luiklok onder aangekapt tentdak met rode leipan.
Het muurwerk is boven een hardstenen plint opgetrokken in rode baksteen met decoratie in zandsteen. De decoratie bestaat onder meer uit cordonlijsten, pilasters en blokken in de ontlastingsbogen. De vensters zijn alle van hout en voorzien van deels niet originele houten en ijzeren draairamen met twee-, vier- en zesruits roedenverdeling. De vensters op de parterre hebben luiken. De deuren zijn alle paneeldeuren. Boven de vensters en deuren bevinden zich ontlastingsbogen met spaarvelden. De bovenzijde van de kozijnen is vrijwel overal recht. In elke geveltop van het volume onder zadeldak bevindt zich echter een getoogd venster.
Waardering
De portierswoning is van algemeen belang als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Duinlust en uit cultuurhistorisch en architectuurhistorisch oogpunt als voorbeeld van een in neo-renaissancistische bouwtrant opgetrokken dienstwoning uit het vierde kwart van de 19de eeuw en als onderdeel uit het oeuvre van C. Muysken.

Description
The porter's lodge built on an irregular T-shaped ground plan consists of a volume projected diagonally on the Duinlustweg and parallel to the drive onto it under a gabled roof and a volume set at right angles to it under a hipped roof. The undercellared porter's lodge contains a ground floor and a first floor in a roof structure that is composed of the aforementioned roof forms. The composite roof is covered with black tuiles du Nord.
The volume under the gabled roof has a front facade with a width of three window bays and gable end walls with a depth of one window bay. The gable end walls are at the top decorated spout gables which are closed by a semicircular pediment. The front facade has above the third window bay from the left a roof dormer placed under a pediment with claw pieces.
The volume set at right angles under the hipped roof has on the ridge point a bellcote with fitting for a swinging bell under an adjoining pitched roof with red slate tiles.
