Omschrijving
Het verdedigbaar AARDWERK uit 1895 van het Fort in de Botshol is langgerekt van vorm en is omgeven door een gracht. De verschillende aardwallen zijn nog herkenbaar op het terrein. Aan de keelzijde (noordzijde) zijn twee zanddepots voor de aanleg van geschutsemplacementen. Het verdedigbaar aardwerk is toegankelijk via een brug aan de noordzijde over de gracht.
Waardering
Het object is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een langgerekt verdedigbaar en omgracht aardwerk, alsmede als voorbeeld in de ontwikkeling van de krijgskunde in de laat-negentiende eeuw. Tevens is het van ensemblewaarde in relatie met het andere complexonderdeel.

The defended EARTHWORK from 1895 of the Fort in the Botshol is elongated in form and is surrounded by a moat. The various earth ramparts are still recognisable on the site. On the gorge side (north side) are two sand depots for the construction of gun emplacements. The defended earthwork is accessible via a bridge on the north side over the moat.
Valuation
The object is of general interest because of its cultural historical value as an example of an elongated defended and moated earthwork, as well as an example in the development of military science in the late nineteenth century. It is also of ensemble value in relation to the other complex component.
