Omschrijving
Inleiding
De ontwerper was architect J.A. Heuvelink sr.

Description
Introduction
Large detached VILLA, situated on the north side of the Frisolaan, opposite the Prinsenpark. The villa is not directly on the Frisolaan, but is set far back in a small park situated between the plot on which Frisolaan 24 stands and a short connecting road between the Frisolaan and the Laan van Kerschoten running parallel to this avenue. In front of the house, a path runs through this park connecting to the Frisolaan and to the connecting road on the right of the park. The villa was built in 1922 on land that originally formed part of the estate 'De Vlijt' (later Marialust). Originally the road ran directly in front of the house and on the opposite side of the road was a watering place, where water accumulated thanks to a layer of clay in the ground. This 'clay pit' was filled in in 1909, after which, on the initiative of Mrs. dowager van Haersma de With, then resident of the country house Marialust, the Prinsenpark was laid out. On the rear side, the site is bounded by the former boundary of King Willem III, the present Laan van Kerschoten, still recognisable by the row of trees there.
The villa was built on the instructions of Mrs. M.J. Broekhuis-Visser, wife of W.H. Broekhuis, a planter from Sumatra, who at that time was residing in Rotterdam. The designer was architect J.A. Heuvelink sr. (1879-1949) and the contractor was H.R. Jonker, a contractor from Rotterdam, from the firm Jonker-Broekhuyzen. The villa shows influences of the English Country House style and Cottage architecture.
In 1958 the garage by the house was enlarged according to a design by ir H. Berkhoff b.i. from Apeldoorn.

Valuation
VILLA from 1922 with influences of the English Country House style.
- Of architectural historical value as a good and relatively well-preserved example of a villa with influences of the English Country House style. Characteristic features include, among others, the oriels, the thatched roof and the white-plastered facades. There is ensemble value as part of the villa district de Parken and with the adjacent villa Frisolaan 24.
- Of urban design value due to its location on the Frisolaan. The avenue still possesses a relatively well-preserved stock of historic houses, which together with the many private and public green elements form an attractive, valuable streetscape.
- Of cultural historical value as a recognisable element of a social development. The building was constructed as housing for the new and wealthy urban elite, who preferentially settled in large villas in spaciously laid out, romantically designed villa districts. De Parken is among the largest and oldest villa districts of this type in our country and the layout contributed to the greatly changed appearance of the village and the social stratification of its population.
